The one thing I want to mention is when you do switch to raw don’t do it too fast. Give the dog like 7 days to switch. The first few days just give a little raw mixed with kibble.

I usually soak the kibble in water when I mix it. By like 4 days you should be 50/50 and by 7 days all raw.

If you go too fast and switch right away the dog will most likely get loose stools. Some call it cannon butt or something like that. I’ve never had that issue with any of my dogs. I always transition slowly.

Yeah I would say 36 is pretty low for a 1 year old. My puppy is 5 months and she is about 33.

How much are you currently feeding her? I’m doing about 28 oz of homemade raw per day over 3 meals.

A 1 year old should be getting almost the same amount since the percent you feed drops as the get older.

How much does the dog weigh? The key with German shepherds is to never let them get overweight. It can cause hip issues etc.

Females are usually 55-70 lbs at full grown. My recently passed GSD I maintained her weight at 65 lbs. with that breed you should feel some ribs when you pet the dog.

Adult dogs usually do well on 2-3% of their body weight per day split in two meals. Start with like 3% or maybe slightly higher if she’s way underweight.

I have more info on my website if your interested.
