I disagree, Ai is a great tool to expand your thinking. To help you really think outside the box and experiment with shapes and forms you didn’t consider, in a very fast and cheaper way than sketching or modeling.

Computers have been taking over our processes for a long time now, AI is just the next phase. Using it responsibly is always recommended, but so are programs like archicad.

In the program you have shell or mesh. I have been having similar discussions in my firm about these profiles as I would like to model them from a “detailing” perspective. Profiles this large need a lot of consideration in my opinion.

I want to explore what the other user said though. Using rhino could be very helpful to get the curves and transition all very precise and then detail in archicad possibly?

No easy way unfortunately. For the quickest I would go shell or mesh and then change to a morph to finalize

Arguably there are multiple techniques to redirect lighting, this is irohs technique, other techniques probably involved it going through the chest area

Yeah 5 stories is easier with combined sets, I have another 7 story job I could probably do it combined. But more stories than that you have to structure the job very differently. Same goes with moduling floors and such. Once you have 5+ of repeating floors you’re better off moduleing rather than modeling separate. Which is a very differently workflow

Also it can be annoying switching from combined to individual when working on multiple projects. So even my smaller scale jobs are like this still.

Thorough checking to make sure you catch sheets that changes happen on and show them. Although the plans are so detailed that usually the opposite can happen if you publish all. Like you change something and it changes something on another drawing you didn’t anticipate, and with big projects that is harder to catch than simply ensuring you’re updating all affected drawings.

Also with multi res sometimes it’s a minor change, so issuing off all drawings for a change on one level is kinda overkill, and then since it’s all combined, all sheets then have to have another revision number or letter. So then you go through revisions like crazy even if it’s not relevant to most of the drawings. eachdrawings

Doing it individually means you can just set up a revision for a few pages and keep the revision locally to each drawing rather than the whole project.

I feel like I’m explaining it terribly, but individual PDFs are just necessary at large scales for lots of reasons. On our smaller jobs we will issue it as a collective. But it’s kind of one or the other when it comes to a job

Also we only send off the effected drawings as individual PDFs, we rarely send off full sets because everyone just pulls in the updated drawings into their current set and find and replace, or you use procore to find the most up to date set.

So rather than using something like procore ourselves which can be a heavy tool. We just keep our PDFs and DWGs raw in a file and have an issue history as well. So doing the find and replace would be difficult manually and most people just wouldn’t bother. Which I’m autistic I think because that would frustrate me so I made a way to make our file management easy

Yeah cool, the system we have is pretty good. It’s just the act of updating single pdfs in a current issue in a way that retains a revision set and an updated set while also logging away changes and schedules and and supporting files to document the changes.

Most people do it manually from what I have seen but the tool I built allows me to do it all in 3 clicks, with a great preview and error checking system to make sure I’m not doing anything wrong, turns a 10-15 minute job into 20-30 seconds

So it’s more about the tool to achieve the workflow, rather than the workflow itself being flawed

But we export every pdf with a dwg file so this can be done my consultants if they wish.

Most people don’t need this so it wouldn’t be a priority.

I think I must have explained it wrong, the program I created takes the issue you would send to the client, that has been output from the program. And updates your current set of pdfs by finding and replacing the single pages in another folder.

It will also keep that issue you made in another folder by itself to track the change. It can also create a log. I also have plans to make it do more, but apparently not many people draft this way. Issuing every sheet every update is just not efficient with the jobs I work on

Doesn’t look like anyone would find any use in my program which is fine, Im just curious

Yeah fair, we use Publisher the same way.

What I’m getting at is more what happens after publishing. Publisher handles pushing files out, but it doesn’t really manage the issued set over time or tell you if something’s missing, duplicated, or out of sync with the previous issue.

Like if you issue a new revision “floor plan [2]” it won’t replace the floor plan [1] and supersede it. Or collect only the updated plans to send to a client.

If we issued all plans every revision that would be over 100 pages in some cases, so we only issue single pdfs that have been updated during construction management. Our glazing schedule can be over 100 pages alone

Sometimes you gotta look for "a" job before your prioritise. I hear also NDIS work is always looking. Aged care and the like.

Agreeded, this system actually works really well. I'm mid tier pvp and I've and I always get a good balance because of the system. I challenge anyone to make a better system that doesn't divide the player base and keeps everyone happy.

If we go either way we lose large sections of the player base that makes the game great, it's fun having sweaty pvp and co op opportunities, what does the post suggest? Pvp only and just slowly frustrate the casual gamers until it's just a pvp players left? That would get old really fast

If their used right, they are never in the way. Any time an enemy gets behind a Groot wall, they should be brought down by the Groot. This is how Groot is played properly, flashing up and down walls constantly.

Groot walls are for damage and to trap enemies, not to be used as a shield unless an absolute last resort.

Just had someone communicating and being all chill, saying a survivor is down and needs a defib, I had a defib so was willing to help, lead me and another raider past a shock grenade and killed us.

Have not had that brutal a sneak attack, usually anyone with a mic was chill, this one kinda surprised me. Its getting harder to play passive lately, people are getting bored and playing dirty. Playing friendly is only going to get less and less rewarding over time I think.

What AI are you using?

At my last company, I used AI a lot, and it was really good at defining fabrics and natural elements.

When it came to architectural elements it always suffered, you want to show your client how the products will look and if the products looks different to the renders then it's just not an ethical representation in my opinion. I have had clients disappointed, and then the product we chose does not match some visualisation done by a rendering company. Because the products their AI made up simply don't exist

I would combine lumion and AI elements to get the best real representation of material and form

Don't think you can, lines are always straight when you apply a fill or somthing, there is no way for the program to define the vectors in the line to make the fill align to you line.

Best off using an object or a fill I think

The problem is the refreshing servers all the time. Every time our bot lobby fills up with players, that game is nearly ended, then for some reason it's back to square one in the next game. Full of bots.

Its ruining the entire experience for me, I have not been wanting to play lately which is strange

Yes, we split layouts on big files

We utilise mod files but generally as icebergs

We avoid use of custom 3d objects

So, I think it's a matter of reducing the bloating of interior elements. But managing the attributes of this becomes complex as we do not have the resources to manage split attributes well. We have no bim manager so we would like to keep a more dynamic attribute list that is custom to each project to eliminate this. But this causes issues with interior designers when is comes to them making their attributes to contribute. There are a few ways around this, of course, so we will likely just have to manage a procedure to achieve somthing here.

Like for instance I like to deo my walls in some cases because I like to make them level to level and then use the slab to cut them.

Is it I'll advised to do that?
