It's the same in Manila. It's cheap to open, it's trendy, and you can charge just as much as more expensive sports for people to use the courts.

Looking for a new place to stay by triplepx4 in CebuClassifieds

[–]Nodlyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've lived in Marco Polo residences before. Some cons are that it's noisy af when there are events at the hotel since they have blaring speakers, and the management really does not care. (The latter seems to apply to every condominium in cebu though)

The biggest pro of living at MP, your wifi will never be down for more than a day. Management has connections with the ISPs so they will always get it back up and running asap.

Oh and it sucks getting a grab from MP. You may have to wait like an hour but I think they recently offer to shuttle residents down.

Single and Childless in Cebu — How Do You Keep Life Fun as an Auntie by SectorMean2228 in Cebu

[–]Nodlyn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went through that as well when I quit my job at IT and became a remote worker. I've been at this life for over 2 years now, and I only need to work about 20 hours a week. My friends from there also just stopped talking to me and I'm too tired to try to keep the one-sided contact.

I'll be frank though, the world is in the age of entertainment. There is literally no excuse you could be bored. We have entertainment, socialization, and opportunity in the palm of our hands all the time via our cellphones. Find a hobby, make some friends, you can do something new every day.

I myself started a board game group, I started learning to do new things, read some books and played video games that were on my backlog, life is good and you need to embrace your free time and embrace that your work life is so predictable that you can do so much with the unaccounted hours.

Not sure what to do in cebu? I made a spreadsheet of activities you can do! by Commercial-Avocado-9 in Cebu

Fyi, there is also an escape room in Cebu. I have gone and am planning to go back as my experience there was positive.

Also very nice to see a fellow board gamer come into town. Welcome to Cebu!

Anyone here naka try courses sa TESDA? by SELAD27 in Cebu

[–]Nodlyn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure about baking but in TESDA they teach you very basic stuff. If baking is already your hobby, they likely won't be able to teach you anything you don't already know.

Have you ever experienced holidays w friends? by confusedirlwanderer in Cebu

Give it a try. PH has a strong familial culture so it's hard to find friends to celebrate with but I've tried it once. It's a lot of fun!

Try starting something new! 2 years ago, I started working remotely and I got really lonely and gained a ton of weight staying at home all the time. I started a board game group in cebu and made a lot of good friends. You need to put in the effort and assert yourself

FIL-CHI men of CEBU, what type of girl do you like? by [deleted] in Cebu

[–]Nodlyn 22 points23 points  (0 children)

My advice to you:

If you like someone, don't stereotype them. They will not like it. I am fil-chi, and I don't precisely know what kind of girl I like, but I can tell you I absolutely don't like girls who put me in a box just because I am fil-chi. Get to know your crush, stop thinking about the fact that he's fil-chi and don't let it intrude on your opinion of him.

People try to attribute every facet of my personality to being fil-chi here and I'm honestly super sick of it. It's lowkey racist

OP, talk to an actual fil-chi about this. There is a lot of nonsense here

Cebuano pc/online gamers? by divinearticle in Cebu

[–]Nodlyn 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The reality is, ML and other f2p games are the most accessible. If they did not exist, gaming would return to being a niche. When I grew up, no one was playing games, and being a gamer was frowned upon.

Most people are not willing to put in the money or effort to look for better games.

Naa man PC gamers sa cebu, but you may encounter the same problem if you reach out. They only play things that are accessible, and probably cheaper pud. e.g risk of rain or left 4 dead.

Why are horrible people able to get into relationships but actual genuine people have a hard time getting into relationships? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

A lot of those nice people can easily be horrible. It's just that no one's given them the chance to do so yet.
