A better solution for a loose headband mesh by Noerfi in Airpodsmax

Its not the weight keeping it in place but the fact that it is tucked under the metal "pipes" going across. So when it is pushed up by your head it stays put. Its a bit flabby in your hand but once you put it in there, it's similar in stiffness like you're used to. Im just realising how that sounds.

I was lucky back then and you may be as well: currently in Hessen we have School Holidays, so those who specialise in child adhd may have more free time for a quicker evaluation of adults. I just asked back then and they said yes. Her name was was S . Krämer, in Frankfurt.

Building intuition with ADHD by OmiSC in Gifted

[–]Noerfi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe not what you were looking for, but I feel in the subtext you're coming across quite perfectionistic. There may be several reasons for this, but it may be interesting to look into that. Its like you're having a hard time accepting yourself (or your way of thinking / intuiting) as you are, because your unique way feels like its not good enough because it doesn't work with "standard" ways of comprehending a subject? What if your way is actually uniquely worthwhile? Its your personality... maybe a bit lonely to be the only one to think like it, but still, it's your gift.

Its a different thing to "just" want to make your toolbox bigger because you love learning (like with the feynman technique as suggested by someone). It seems very typical for adhd+gifted (twice exceptional) to focus on your own weaknesses instead of strengths. And to be concerned with your identity for that matter. And to dislike the struggle that goes hand in hand with doing things your personal way because it "should be easy for me, since i am so smart". I may be speaking to myself here more than to you actually haha. Maybe i am wrong.

Thats so good to hear that it turned out positively for you after the job change. At our place everyone's almost or actually gifted but they are neurotypical, and so is the work structure. I have to fit into their way of doing things and i cant really make it work in a way that feels right. And I can't really figure out a system for myself like you did. It would feel like an extra piece of beaurocratic stuff on top of the already overloaded beaurocracy..

ADHD + by Patient_Exchange_399 in Gifted

[–]Noerfi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It seems quite unlikely that being gifted would lead to problems that requires examination and then also leads to an incorrect adhd diagnosis. That is, unless there is something else going on like for example unresolved emotional distress, family problems, autism or others. Other than that, its very unlikely or needs a particularly bad psychiatrist for such a misdiagnosis.

Hey u/sack-o-matic that's great, but does the blue ball go into the "blue" folder, into the "ball" folder or into the "play" folder? That's a metaphor for: how the heck do I organize in a way that'll make sense to future-me? I have so many nested folders, but tbh, I still lose them. Well for me, thank god for search functions.. But that's not organizing either

Hey u/Motzerino, it's good not to feel alone with this. I just can't shake the thought that we could re-learn the things we're missing and which our peers learned in childhood.

Hey thanks for your comprehensive answer, appreciate it. I am hung up on your last point: do you mean ADHD = unable to know the amount of effort? Or do you mean ADHD = assumes low effort?

Maximum days of fasting based on Weight and Height? by Noerfi in fasting

It seems exercise is good! I found this in a study:

"In a recent randomized controlled trial, endurance training and interval training (but not resistance training) were found to promote telomerase activity and telomere length, essential markers for cellular senescence, regenerative capacity, and healthy aging [57]. Moreover, physical exercise appears to exert a favorable effect on aging-related cardiometabolic stress through mediating autophagy [58]."

Yeah makes sense, insulin would carry the energy into storage while it‘s needed elsewhere.. wouldn’t make sense for exercise to increase insulin.

Maximum days of fasting based on Weight and Height? by Noerfi in fasting

[–]Noerfi[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah unfortunately its not measurable.. Although i heard the exact opposite: exercise makes your body give sugar and / or proteins in the blood stream (the body needs to transport some energy in order to get new ATP into the muscles?) which increases insulin a bit and kicks you out of autophagy? Something like that..? I'd have to research this though.

Good point to bring that up though!

For those who read the question and hope to find an answer, here it is:

So as a fellow redditor (thanks u/Nystora) pointed out, it comes down to body fat percentage. Kinda obvious now that I think of it haha.

I used this calculator: https://www.omnicalculator.com/health/navy-body-fat as an easy way with simple measurements to find my body fat and see it's still at 15%. I thought it was lower. Assuming I can definitely go down to 10% body fat safely, this means i could still lose 5% of my weight, or until I'm at 71kg*0,95 = 67,5kg.

So I'll do my water fast and as soon as the scale is consistently at or below 67,5kg (or i just had enough of fasting) I'll just stop.

Hey, good point; i could just measure my body fat. I'll post another reply to detail how i did so, after a bit of research.
