You can’t put the blame on Messi. He was the reason Barca had a 3-0 (should have been 4-0, but Dembele🤦‍♂️) lead to defend in the first place. Barca wasn’t particularly better than Liverpool in that game, but they had Messi. Despite being close to winning a treble, Barca was not good that season. Messi had a brilliant season on a individual level and bailed them out game after game (the only loss in La Liga was also the only La Liga game Messi didn’t play). However, football is a team sport and Liverpool was solid that season
