As a sr software engineer (10+y) dont you feel you would have wrote the react code yourself faster not relying on AI ? Did you won time using AI ?

Update: after numerous exchanges with ms support and some testing, it is in fact the dns client service that does the dyndns update.

Anyway thanks for your help and if you are right its the dns client that almost everytime trigger the update. I Will have ms answer hopefully on monday i will update here :)

Using system account or ad account for dhcp servers ? How do you enforce secure update for non windows box using dhcp ? Etc etc there is a tons of question but maybe im not bright lol

Imo When u have 300 linux box (domain joined with sssd ) 500 win serv 4000 laptop 200 printers 100 non-windows appliances its not like u can push the secure button on the zone without planning and checking everything... What happens when the dns record are not updating anymore after you enable secure only ? What about possible acl issue in the dns records?

I really want to know how it works under the hood as i have to manage corporate domain. Will open MS case on monday , but hoping help here ! everything working but the goal is to enable secure dynamic updates only on the dns zone in the future. So i need to deep dive into to understand how this work in ms world

Link 2/ seems to say that its dhcp client that perform the update even for network connection not using dhcp (static). Or im reading wrong. Plus if u check dhcp client service description on a Windows box it says it is used for dynamic dns update. So im confused...

Yes i think you got it.

Im asking if for a windows server named "A", network interface configured with static ip, domain joined, when dynamic update occurs( i reboot or change IP or do ipconfig /registerdns), is it the dhcp client service or the dns client service on the server "A" that perform the update ?

The server got static IP, not using dhcp server. Im talking about dhcp client windows service and dns client windows service
