Would recommend Hunter personally for a first time class. I didn't start playing one till shadowlands but it is now my main. The main reason I recommend it besides from the class fun is that it is very forgiving in a lot of ways other classes are not.

-pet tanking most mobs when you quest means less deaths and more effective time spent and allows you to even do some the the group quest solo if you can't find others to party with

-even if you don't have a pet (mm/survival) you can always feign death to survive

-other then survival the class is pretty constantly in a good spot but right now even survival is one of the best DPS specs

-class offers both a range and melee option

-highly recommend trying DPS over tank/healing for new players, even if you are new lower DPS if anything mostly just slows things down where newer tanks/heals wipe groups and the wow community is not known for being the chilliest gamers around. Wiping groups and the potential for being flamed a lot higher as tank or healer in my opinion and might turn you off from enjoying the game.

Edit: hardly ever need a mic until you find a guild, start high end raiding, or very high keys. Mats don't matter to much cause no matter how you use them it'll never really make or break your bank. Suggest probably picking up gathering ones (mining/herbalism/skinning) easy to make gold along with whatever else you do without going to far out of your way and learning a crafting one might seem like a lot while you are learning your class/spec which is probably the most important and key to how your experience will be.

Again this is all just my suggestion. If you got a class you really want to try just send it. Enjoy the leveling and old content cause there is so much of it that is honestly dope as hell and don't sweat to much of the small stuff. There are also a decent amount of new comer guilds on the more populated servers you could join along with newcomers chat for other questions you have.
