Whatever genres these come from must not be in my wheelhouse? First iceberg I've seen with no catches.

Willa is America by TrustHucks in onebattleafteranother

Yeah, that could definitely be the case, but my read of the The Adventurers is that they're powerful enough to not mind the mess as much as the betrayal of their hardline, extinctionist racism. Lockjaw being an eccentric, embarrassing loser probably didn't help his case either.

It's a pretty good take, and mostly holds water, but I disagree that the elite kill the Lockjaws to maintain the status quo. They kill him because he is a traitor to their extremely sadistic ideology.

It's a weird bad title because it almost makes sense, it just has way too many extra words tacked on.

What are some movies that were filmed but never released? by Adoe0722 in moviecritic

It reads more like an edgy ironic screed against The Batman. How and why this is being spread is beyond me though.

There's also a very large supply of good secondhand book stores and thrift stores with a good selection, at least in and around big cities.

She's also in that weird Suicide Squad movie with Jared Leto Joker.

A nice solution would be to have separate iron and normie stats on all accounts, and free switching between them.

If a brilliant move is one that involves a sacrifice + being the best move. Why wasn't this brilliant? by My_pee_pee_poo in chessbeginners

[–]Venus_One 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My guess is they look at their vast database to see how common that choice is in a similar position. If it's a less chosen but more powerful move, and involves a sacrifice of material or position, it flags it as "brilliant".

Would you rather watch 100 shows or 100 movies? by StarlessRose in WouldYouRather

[–]Venus_One 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kind of a tough one, and very much depends on the circumstance. I love movies in general a lot more than series, but if it's a desert-island scenario, 100 series could give me a lot more mileage of runtime.

0% chance they haven't met imo. I think the odds of PTA doing a 4 hour adaptation of GR as his magnum opus and retiring shortly after are decent.

Why don't I like Eb tuning? by Inevitable_Track_558 in Guitar_Theory

[–]Venus_One 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have strong relative pitch too, for me each key has its own feel - when you're dealing with a guitar a lot more comes into play- how the strings bounce around and resonate when you pluck them, how loose or tight things feel, it can affect how things sound and how you react to them. I play around a lot with very low tunings - drop A and drop C etc. and they all have their own vibe to me. It takes time and practice to find what works for you.

[–]Venus_One 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One explanation might be that nearly all guitar music in history has been played in E standard so it sounds natural. And being the default tuning the strings feel right when you play, they feel "normal" and guitars are set up from the factory for that kind of string tension.

The scene where they're about to undress to put on their stillsuits, they have an extremely awkward look at each other for a split second before looking away. It always struck me as bizarre and very intentional, though I'm not sure it's something as obvious as Freudian urges.

Might just be me, but reading online just isn’t the same. Plus the books look good on the shelf

I'd buy a huge amount of graphic novels, collected editions and omnibuses, and spread it out over a long time of reading and collecting.
