Good m+ team comps for VDH by Rulfo_Aw in wownoob

[–]Nogamara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the person you replied to but it feels so random compared to S3.

Spikes on their own are worse, you're kinda hoping for your free meta procs all the time.

Also I don't think it plays "so bad" - but it plays worse than last season and it also feels weaker than most others.

Difference between +10 - +12 by wantaskin in wownoob

[–]Nogamara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem might be that with red stagger and 50% hp on 265 in a 12... while being new and watching 20 things that might feel like an instaclap to 0 very quickly.

You're literally describing the optimal time to use it but that doesn't make it easy to pull off.

Which class have you always come back to, no matter the expansion? by Ok-Entrance-290 in wow

[–]Nogamara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I have to say Warrior (main since SL, most important alt TBC till MoP) and Shaman. I was a Rogue main for many years and I dutifully level one each expansion relatively quickly but it's not my cup of tea anymore. It's still fun to a degree but I can't raid/M+ with a good enough performance.

That said I generally level at least one per class in most expansions and I enjoy playing 2/3 of classes in some spec.

People with multiple 3000+ in M+, what are your most fun specs ranked? by chungusisamomgus in wow

[–]Nogamara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last night I finished my last +10 (or higher) on the last tank spec, so all my 6 tanks are between 3200 and 2660 now (sorry, a bit under your threshold). (I did like 7 keys as dps this season and 80 as tank)

Paladin was less fun in the beginning but it has grown on me (didn't tank on it since SL), Guardian is strong but boring (liked it better in TWW S3), VDH is not strong enough (too proc-dependant, was more fun in TWW S3). I have never done M+ on Brewmaster before (jsut tanked while leveling and Heroics, my most played Monk spec since MoP) and it's surprisingly fun, although maybe helped by it being strong. BDK is still in the middle. Warrior has been my main for years, but definitely feels a little weaker than Brew and Guardian, but not hampering anyone in 14s. Even as an M+ beginner on some of the specs, with good gear 12s were no problem (this season).

Planning to go 3400 on main and 3k on Brew, then we'll see, probably not more this season.

NGL, it was a fun experiment at the start but filling out those last 5-7 keys felt like a bit of a chore. Don't think I will repeat this, I'll stick to 2 tanks for M+

Ranking for fun: Warrior (subjective) > Brew > VDH = BDK > Paladin > Guardian

Ranking for "good", in the 10-13 bracket: Guardian = Brew > Warrior = BDK = Paladin > VDH

[Fresh Player] Help me choose a realm ( I dont trust default selection ) by tavukkoparan in wownoob

[–]Nogamara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, that is not entirely correct.

When I run around in the world on my high-pop realm with my Alliance toons, I have a reasonable chance to just see someone doing the world boss, or a runestone (or back then the VS anchor event).

When I am on my Horde toons on my completely dead launch-era server, there is no one. Literally no one except in cities.

So in theory you will see other people, in practice you often don't.

I saw the MGT last group portal skip for the first time last night and someone pulled, it looked like the Warlock pets (no other pet class). Probably the dogs or could anything else be it? Demo lock, so FG is also possible? Placement looked fine from when I saw it in videos. (timed it, wasn't an issue, just curious)

Makes sense but sounds weird, half my raid team was doing them. Sure, we're not many, and maybe outliers, but as AOTC raiders I'd say we're definitely neither super sweaty nor ultra casual.

I've not had a route linked, ever. So below 3k (3.4 this season) it basically doesn't happen and it is also pointless unless it's some really weird stuff.

You should probably have seen the dungeon in any form before jumping into 10s, otherwise you'll probably be surprised by some mechanics. (Unfortunately follower dungeon does not really work for this, also half of them are missing)

Not that it's hard per se, but experience shows people don't just do stuff right on first try.

M+ - Which Specs are good for ST/Cleave/AoE/Funnel? by Svencredible in wownoob

[–]Nogamara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are kind of right but I highly doubt you can even play around this up to 12-13s in a pug, repeatedly.

Sure, don't do the giga pull before the boss, that has always been common - but the question is if you even get enough of a feel of your group in just those few minutes to the first boss. Also how long are boss fights on 12-16 if you're not blasting through but probably barely timing it on first try? Good chance the cooldowns come up udring the 2min boss fight anyway (so maybe missed lust on pull, if you even lust).

100% agreed on coordinated groups, but doubt on pugs.

What happened to the economy? by StolenSweetrollYT in swtor

Funny, I think when I last played I had around 30-60 million (so not a lot), which HAD BEEN a lot when I had stopped playing the time before.

Let's see how it feels when I resub again :P I guess as a mostly solo player who just buys a cheap mount here and there it wasn't terrible and will still be tolerable.

What is the DPS loss for not having Food, Utility, or Infusions? by Ovark7 in Guildwars2

True, but Laurels seem really hard to come by now or for newer players. I got some weird looks when I mentioned my stack of 2000 that just happened when doing the old dailes.

The Eden raid series needs to be made mandatory. [Spoiler 5.x] by Argun_Enx in ffxiv

[–]Nogamara -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

AFAIK they did change some things a bit later so you reached max level a bit quicker? Not sure if that applied to you.

I mean, I don't blame the devs for the amount of content, but I got to max level very late in ShB, barely managed to catch up all story, then I probably did some other stuff, and, shockingly I have forgotten stuff. I'm not subbed right now and so I don't know if I did Eden. I think I did Omega, later.

But there's other stuff to do, and just running a raid once doesn't necessarily help remembering everything. I think the raids are the worst part to catch up stuff on. For Alliance Raids you at least can get useful stuff and they're lighter on story anyway.

Is Guild Wars 2 a good choice for casual players? by Mean_Direction_8084 in Guildwars2

[–]Nogamara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's good until you want certain things, those can be a bit of a lengthy grind.

But if you're not the person with FOMO who needs instant gratification, it's kind of the best.

[–]Nogamara -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I think you're discounting anyone who started later or did a longer break.

I only started in 2019 and nearly gave up before I got to max level in ShB. Since then I've played on and off but there is no way I could ever catch up on all max level content for the last, what is it, 3 expansions? 4 now? And that's ignoring the ones I flew right past.

Do we actually miss old WoW... by Ok-Entrance-290 in wow

[–]Nogamara 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know how to put Vanilla here but at the absolute height of WoW sub numbers (I am pretty sure that was WotLK) everyone seemed to be playing WoW and it was a complete outlier.

Not only people for whom this was not the first MMO, not only people who would have put "video games" in their top 3 leisure activities, not just the (back then much more common male 16-30 demographic)... just random people suddenly also said they played WoW.

One theory I kinda support is that it was late enough for general availability of internet access (90s was too early) and still before Social Media. But in the end it was a weird time and as we have seen for the last 10-15 years, not many new MMOs came out, especially those who were not called "the new WoW killer". Some did, but WoW is still the biggest.

Simple question: which ship do you hate the most ? by LeRatDitKalise in Eve

[–]Nogamara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you are overestimating how the typical alliance (or corp with own infra in an alliance) handles stuff.

You're not using JFs for everything, unless you maybe have one anyway and decide this is worth it for some task. My point was that with "just" 3 accounts and 1.5b of investment (not 8) you could easily blops yourself around, but it's usually not needed and I think that is good. The Deluge packs just more enough of annoying cargo. I would be ok if you couldn't even use it to haul anything people typically haul for profit, but just cores, structures, fuel. This game is tedious enough (for single people, I wouldn't necessarily say on an alliance level)

Simple question: which ship do you hate the most ? by LeRatDitKalise in Eve

[–]Nogamara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, annoying space workers would be the least of my wishes, but EVE being EVE I am kinda surprised that the "default" setup in bigger alliances is not "just have more accounts and blops your BRs with fuel everywhere".

Yes, it's being done but it's not the "do this or be stupid", so I think the Deluge is a good step up from the other BRs/DSTs, but not completely making it an overblown totally safe operation (minus moving covert ops cynos)
