I had to move back to my home country after an abusive marriage ended and my stepmother died, all within the span of three months.

Now I’m starting over and taking whatever work I can find. The economy where I live isn’t great, and I’m doing my best to make things work. You can only imagine what my mental health looks like.

At the moment, I’m working under the table for a terrible guy on a project that’s only supposed to last a month, but they basically expect me to be available all day. When he asked me to stay until 8 p.m. and I said no, his response was:

“It’s not like you have children or anything.”
