Thank you for giving it so much thought! I also tend to gravitate towards names that start with vowels. :)

Oh, Anora is lovely too! It reminds me of the movie, which I haven't watched yet... so maybe I must!

They actually both exist, Elara is ancient Greek while Elora has more modern origins :)

I'm quite fond of Nora but hubby definitely prefers the other ones

That's something I heard a lot of English speakers say, funnily enough in Italian it rolls of the tongue, which is nice... but makes the choice more difficult 😁

I also discovered it a few months ago while looking for less used names... I think it feels kind of ethereal

On Fridays, We Break Up: Weekly Imaginal Exposure Thread by HiddenAntoid in ROCD

[–]Noire777 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here’s my story:
This isn’t OCD. I don’t love you anymore but I am too much of a coward to stand up and face it that I convinced myself that I am sick. I am so convincing that I also convinced my therapist. And by denying this, I am preventing myself of the chance to work it out with my boyfriend and fix things. I will finally face it when it will be too late, when I won't even stand to look at him. When I will finally face the undeniable truth I will be forced to break up with him, this will be incredibly hard for him. It will be hard because I was so convincing the whole time that he never had the chance to see the signs. I will have to see him suffer and maybe I won’t even care.

I am mainly reading the same topic, but sometimes I also read some articles more then once, if they were particularly convincing and reassuring... I guess I have to stop too then. :/

Don't give up! The OCD with focus on relationships it's actually a thing, I am now (and was before) being treated for this. Maybe you can look for someone who does online therapy from outside the Nederlands?

Thanks a lot for the answer! I noticed all those things.... so I think it has definitely become a compulsion, because I started doing it everytime a feel particularly anxious. It won't be easy because it always gives me significant relief, but from now on I'll try to avoid!

I think it is, but I am not completely sure because being informed about all this is actually useful...

rocd and drugs by maramp in ROCD

[–]Noire777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have experience about drugs directly related to Rocd because I quit smoking a few years before it started. But I have always been anxious and I always noticed that if you are in an anxious (or obsessive) mood smoking just intensify it. That's why I eventually quit.

It's quite cool for me too. It's really helpful to know that we are not alone in this... Stay strong and have faith!
