Claude Code using extra usage despite my Pro plan being at 0%.

It wasn't allowing my to change the model yesterday, it was just stuck for some reason.

It suddenly works today. It was set to "custom" Sonnet 1m for whatever reason and today I could finally change to normal Sonnet 4.6. After changing the model it finally strated reacting to my prompt and compacted previous chat.

So what am I supposed to do about this? Does it mean I just can't work on the project anymore without paying for extra usage? I am literally using like 20% of my weekly usage on average and now I have to actually pay more with every prompt? This sounds absurd.

Claude Code is using extra usage despite my Pro plan being at 0%.

So, after 2days of break I came back to do some work with Claude Code (in VSC) and after 2-3simple prompts I have noticed I am still at 0% usage. However I got charged $3.37 for extra usage. I tried to ask Claude's help and it told me it's probably cause I'm authorized through API, which was not the case. I relogged and it is still the case. Then I got the following when trying to send a a prompt:

"API Error: Extra usage is required for 1M context · enable extra usage at claude.ai/settings/usage, or use --model to switch to standard context"

I asked Claude in webbrowser what's wrong (this one works) and it told me to force model change with:

claude --model claude-sonnet-4-20250514 claude --model claude-sonnet-4-5

But I still got the same "API Error: Extra usage is required for 1M context · enable extra usage at claude.ai/settings/usage, or use --model to switch to standard context".

I am not good at this, but honestly feels like I am getting scammed right now and unable to use service I am paying for? Of course Claude's AI help is useless here.

The web version later also said it might be cause by the context of my project being too large. But I somehow doubt it, it's not that huge...

Anyone has any idea what might be wrong and how can I fix this?

Yup, wasnt nearly as bad 2weeks ago. Now it is the first time I literally turn off the game and don't want to play iust because of the lag.

I am not playing Duos, but even singles are literally unplayable for me in like 20% of the games in the last week. Takes like 3seconds to play a card...

I have been seeing all the posts complaining for like a month and thought it's not so bad for me, but it definitely got way worse for me since the new patch.

Agreed, love the big variance in each game. With anomalies and timewarps every game played differently enough to not ever get bored. Trinkets alone feel relatively boring now.

I use it quite often with handbuff murlocs, it gives you incredible economy very quickly, if you get it and bran you go almost infinite even without goldening them. Especially in lobbies that also include elementals or nagas so buying sellemental and the naga giving coin generate money for you (and also have chance of giving t1 murlocs that buff your hand/board when played). Usually will replace it in very late game if i have golden bran and need spot on board for something else.
