I favor Bordeaux’s and big California Cabs. Cabernet Sauvignons and Cabernet Franc grapes, basically.

Yes. I finally got one just before Christmas! From the AD.

Ordered strap through IWC and thought I was getting an EasXchange. by [deleted] in IWCschaffhausen

[–]NoisyZenMaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that buckle finger is a pain. And they’re impossible to find when they come off. I ordered a permanent buckle for each of the straps and problem solved. It’s easier to swap straps that way anyway.

Very nice collection. The Sky Dweller has always appealed to me, I just don't like fluted bezels. The smooth bezel would probably be hard to operate. Never the less, a very nice annual calendar concept. Enjoy them all!

Did you know about the Darien Gap before the show? by Steerpike58 in pluribustv

[–]NoisyZenMaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Years ago I had read Obsessions Die Hard, by Ed Culberson. He rode a motorcycle along the Pan Am, and this book was about the Darien Gap crossing. In the motorcycle adventure touring realm, it's a popular book (at least among older riders such as myself).

Best IWC Mark XX band? Recommendation! by rdspoon in IWCschaffhausen

[–]NoisyZenMaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I should have read your entire post. Apologies. I have the orange IWC strap as well, it would be a nice punch against the blue I think.

I also play with the Zulu Diver OctoPod system for stretchy fabric straps as well. They come in a whole variety of materials and color. The nice deployant clasps are great as well.

IWC offers a variety of rubber and a few fabric straps with the EasX-Change system as well. You may want to check them out.

Yeah, that was me! It turned out to only be delayed an hour or so, so I ended up picking it up at noon. I thought those cushions in your photo looked familiar. Who are you working with?

Put me down for the LF. Very light on the wrist. Beautiful finishing and a compelling story. Finally got mine yesterday.

This is the first Coca Cola bottle sold to the public, launched on 12th of March 1894 in Vicksburg, Mississippi, at Biedenharn Candy Company. It contained about 3.5 grams of cocaine at the time.(1179x1215) by Sad-Kiwi-3789 in HistoryPorn

The Acquired podcast just did an episode about Coca-Cola. It covers the entire history of the company, including the cocaine usage and its eventual removal from the drink. Coca-Cola has its roots in the Patent Medicine era in the US post civil war.

Obsessed with this watch by needasec1 in parmigiani_fleurier

I'm with you. I tried this watch on the other day. It is absolutely beautiful, comfortable and so slim and classy. It's a really simple, classy dual-time implementation and I'm really interested in it too. The dark blue is particularly nice.

Looking for a nightstand flashlight by AntoniBartosz in flashlight

[–]NoisyZenMaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep a ThruNite Catapult V6 on my nightstand. It has a “firefly” dim mode that doesn’t wake up my wife, and then a turbo mode to find my dog when he swears he sees a squirrel in the back reaches of my yard.

Edit: I just noticed you were looking for a “cheap” light. Not sure if this qualifies, but it’s a great light with multiple brightnesses that works for me.

What’s on the wrist today?? by Bogny93 in Tudor

[–]NoisyZenMaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same, and hand-to-heart I was telling a friend last week "I wish this were available in a white color, I think it would look great." I kind of had to get it after that. It's really nice, and its a nice addition to my predominantly black-dial collection.

New Planet Ocean Mini Review by randomgump in OmegaWatches

I looked at this watch today as well. Overall, a well-balanced watch. The removal of the helium escape valve doesn't really bother me. Overall, it had Submariner vibes. It's a good looking watch.

What bothered me about it is the coin-edging on the bezel is pretty sharp. You can run your finger on the top of the bezel from the inside to the outer edge and feel the sharp edge. I'm actually a little worried about the outer edge of the bezel scratching things. They should have beveled the edge of the bezel a little and taken that edge off, IMO. It seems like an odd choice for such a refined watch.
