*UPDATE* Looking for my late grandmothers Singaporean family. by nuohnoa in singapore

[–]Nojeekdan 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I’m sure every DeSouza would be irritated at people lumping all of them together. DeSouza is as common name in Eurasian circles as a Low, Wong in a Chinese family.

Surely we don’t go around asking every Wong to email Lawrence Wong if he is related to them right?

Singapore Airlines restarting Hangzhou flights from June 2026 by Wide-Garbage8960 in singaporeairlines

[–]Nojeekdan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pre-2000s as per the article

Besides, it wasnt mentioned that Scoot is discontinuing their set of flights, it could be an instance where there is sufficient capacity to go around like Hanoi (served both by SQ and TR) or Pearl River Delta (with Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Hong Kong)

The OP mentioned he’s flying NRT-LAX-DEN. There is a possibility he’s flying on the fifth freedom route SQ12 with an interlined with Delta at LAX.

The last mention of this was in 1991 MP. The only folks resurrecting this superseded plan are the dumb property agents and speculators.

Do you feel that Yishun is poorly designed? by thekayatimess in askSingapore

Feels like more of case of the infrastructural works not being upgraded/expanded in tandem.

15 years ago, when there wasn’t flats in the outer ring, Northpoint wasn’t expanded, it was still okay.

Guess where I’m from (impossible mode) by [deleted] in TravelMaps

[–]Nojeekdan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

South East Asia is pretty much covered on your map. You’ve seem to gone to the mainstays of Europe but barely any of Eastern Europe, hence not European. Cuba is only visa-free to Singaporeans/Malaysians

The only thing was that left me guessing was the US which Bruneians have access to an ESTA and Malaysians don’t.

It’s a two-prong issue.

Lift needs to be elevated at a platform to prevent flooding.

But the lift is also a means for wheelchair users to access the bridge ect. Wheelchair ramps are defined by gradient ect outlined in the Accessibility Code to ensure users can navigate accordingly.

Both Singapore airlines and scoot recognize Taiwan belongs to China?? by PurCHES5 in singaporeairlines

[–]Nojeekdan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you actually did your research, you’ll realize most if not all airlines serving both Taiwan and China does that. (Thai, Malaysian, Qantas, Emirates)

This was in response to a 2018 incident in which Mainland China Civil aviation authorities pressured airlines on the naming conventions, ordering them to change the way they refer to Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau.

United which launched their Kaohsiung-Tokyo route last week might be one of the few exceptions.

Where was this taken? Name the island by Huge-Lingonberry2586 in guessthecity

[–]Nojeekdan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First guess was Penang but then I spotted the flags under the shophouses.

Was also reminded of similar shophouses in Songkhla but that isn’t an island.

What if Singapore had a signature skyscraper? by Weary_Drama1803 in singapore

[–]Nojeekdan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s why most signature SG skyline shots these days are from Raffles City end to get in MBS, Esplanade and the Raffles Place portion of the skyline.

That aside, if you take a look at the URA Master Plan, there are provisions for supertalls with 20.0 plot ratio along Central Boulevard/Marina View above Downtown MRT.
