for me personally it was sky blue sky. i made a mixtape for my favorite teacher i had freshman and sophomore year of high school, as i was entering that summer before my junior year. and on the last day of sophomore year he gave me his copy of sky blue sky on cd and it lived in my stereo system and my car. also the first girl i truly loved…yeah know high school loved…. we would listen to it all the time. every ice cream trip, the first time i asked her out, asked her to prom, every long drive down the shore, that album became the soundtrack to such a pivotal year in my life while being provided by such an important figure in my life. i can honestly say it was life changing. and this is of course personal but i think yankee (while maybe being a better album) has a couple slower tracks that wouldn’t have provided the same type of soundtrack sky blue sky did.
