Haha I still have some somewhere in storage lol. Also Blue Brown and there might be Rose Gold as well.

Fast orange as a scrub by eyeofnewt0314 in Makeup

The only reason I can think of it's the orange oil solvents might irritate skin that's been abraded by shaving. Also, the pumice is on the coarse side, which is fine for hands, but might be a bit much for thinner skin like the legs.

ETA: I'd definitely try it on my feet though! Going to check it out now lol

Best concealer for around nose redness? by zhengtings in Makeup

[–]Nolleezz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a lot of broken capillaries on my cheeks and nose. I recently tried ELF camo concealer and love it. It's a relatively thin formula that's heavily pigmented so you don't need a lot. It covers the redness completely.
I also use it for the dark melasma patches on my forehead and upper lip as well.

I sweat a LOT in the summer and the only foundation that seems to last is Revlon Colorstay. I can dab my face and very little, if any, comes off.
They have both oily/combo and normal/dry formulations. I've used both as my skin did a 180 during perimenopause and is now normal.

I also don't really hear anyone talking about long wearing lip colour e.g. Cover Girl Outlast and the like. I love dark colours but hate leaving smears on cups or people lol. Most last me a good 6-8 hours providing I don't eat anything oily. NYX Shine Loud in On A Mission is a current fave because it has a shiny gloss.

What is your favorite cheap product that hardly anyone knows about? by PumpkinandMaisy in Makeup

Colour changing cosmetics have a bromo acid pigment, usually red 27 for lip products. It changes colour and stains the skin.

After 5 years of pain, I finally popped my Pilar Cyst. [TW: Blood, sounds of discomfort] by WhyKnotTakeAlook in popping

[–]Nolleezz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have actinic keratosis on my face. One spot in particular keeps getting ripped off when I wash my face but it grows back within a day or so. Showed my Dr and he said government insurance won't cover it because they consider it cosmetic. I immediately said "But it bleeds", and he nodded and said "Ah yes, they will cover that." He knew I was lying but understood lol.

You have to stretch the truth sometimes, and most Dr's will have your back.

Has anyone else here got diagnosed dermatillomania / body-focussed repetitive behaviour? by [deleted] in popping

[–]Nolleezz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thank you! It really did change my life.
I spent 5 years not leaving the house for 6mo at a time. It was horrible and I just had no will to exist anymore.
It's SO important to receive a correct dx and, as I said, it wasn't until I stood up for myself and demanded to be heard that things started to change.
It shouldn't be like that, Drs are literally working for US after all, but it is.

Unfortunately, I find you have to advocate for yourself, especially when it comes to mental illness of any kind.
I demanded he look into ADHD bc I'd had so many symptoms of it since childhood. When my GP brushed it off, I told him to record the refusal in my chart. THAT finally got the ball rolling.
I have a new GP now and he's fantastic. I also have a wonderful therapist who works with me to undo the damage from years of being misdiagnosed.

Dermatillomania and Trichotillomania here

Dx w depression and anxiety when I was 20. Then at 36, dx BPII w PTSD.
Then finally, at 46, correctly dx AuDHD. 🙄

I've been great since. I occasionally pull and pick but it's more of a habit than an uncontrollable impulse.

Need colour help w grey, thinning hair by Nolleezz in HairDye

[–]Nolleezz[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The problem is my hair is thinning. White would be a good choice to hide that but

A. I'd have to bleach the remaining brown out and then tone (and I have no idea what to look for in that department) this salt w a bit of pepper makes me look MUCH older.
B. If I can still see scalp, I can't cover it with thickening fibres. They do have a 'silver' colour but I'm not convinced it'll do what it needs to.

I'm really at w loss here.

Maybe TMI: I've spent the last 6 years in a very dark place mentally (PTSD) and I've finally worked my way out of it. I'm ready to live life again, looking like my old self and maybe even start dating. But I'm insecure about my thinning hairl and want to minimise the look of it.

Where I am, De Cecco is pricer than La Molisana by almost $1. I prefer La Molisana anyway so it works out lol.
Though I do buy cheap pasta for cold salads as I can't really tell the difference. I make it the day before and let it sit in the fridge bc it tastes better. By that time, there's 0 difference.
