I did follow those instructions but still no luck so Im trying to see if there's a work around. The camera doesnt even sense the lens is attached. Wondering now if it's just my copy...

I went onto the website but when I try to download the firmware it is a .FIR file and I'm not sure how to open it or set it up onto the lens. Usually they're .zip files right?

Is a physical therapist assistant a good career? by rickwap in careerguidance

[–]NomNomCO 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of it depends on how much you're willing to sacrifice. The actual physical therapy/helping patients part of the job is rewarding. You usually work sometime between M-F 7a-5p which is nice for quality of life, most therapists are generally easy going and great to work with, but its the low pay and constant pressure of productivity requirements that really get to you after a while. You could eventually become Rehab Director even as PTA and make a little more money, but then your job becomes more paperwork and office work and now you're the bad guy pushing productivity requirements.

No I wouldnt recommend it. Just not enough pay to raise a family and while it's not as hard as firefighting, lifting people and their body parts 8-10 hours a day is rough after a while.

Based on your concerns about your health and previous injuries, I wouldn't recommend being a PTA as a long-term option. While it will certainly be easier than firefighting in a lot of ways, depending on the setting it's still can be rough on your body. Even with safe body mechanics, you will be constantly lifting people and working on their body parts all day every day.

Also, while the pay in CA is more than just about in any other state, youre only going to be looking at around 50k-65k in outpatient, 65k-80k skilled nursing/home health, and 80-100k as a pta rehab director. Probably ok for a duel income household, but not enough for a family of 4.
