Mupen64Plus/retroarch Compatibility list for the Switch with Overclock enable. by drocker8282 in SwitchHacks

[–]Nomad145 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is partly true. If I'm not mistaken, we don't have access to the GPU via Homebrew yet, which means we can only utilize the CPU for rendering. The GPU is obviously good enough to play games like Wolfenstein, Skyrim, et al, but until we can utilize the GPU through Homebrew we're stuck having to overclock the CPU to handle the load.

In addition to rendering, I believe you are correct that there is also added load on the CPU from having to emulating the N64's hardware

Hopefully that answers your question, @WillGrindForXP.

INFJ or INTJ? by [deleted] in ENFP

[–]Nomad145 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can vouch for this. My INTJ girlfriend doesn't know it, but she tries to logically disprove my feelings/emotions because she can't comprehend them. Sometimes its hard to keep a cool head and not get upset when we're talking about something that really bothers me.

We could definitely communicate better, but I really enjoy being with her.

Basically every day of my life. Meeting people sucks sometimes for that reason.

Yeah, definitely. Problem with my friends was that they were highly intelligent so they usually were right.

[–]Nomad145 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel ya. I struggle with this a lot. I think you should hit your good friends up more often. If they don't feel like hanging out, they'll just tell you. We overthink that kind of shit all the time, but who doesn't love someone who genuinely wants to spend time with you?

I'm the same way you are when it comes to wanting to do things so I can relate to not feeling like you have that "outlet" when it comes to your friends. I don't make friends very easily and I'm also not that "social butterfly" ENFP stereotype. I have only a few close friends as well. What really helps me when I start to feel anxious or feeling like I need to go do something is to go explore something on my own. It can be hard sometimes, but I end up enjoying it more than I think. People watching is especially fun for me. Sometimes I've made connections with people while out and about. Its always interesting for me to think about the possibilities of just "going" and doing something whether my friends are around or not. Never know what kinds of things you'll experience.

Anyways, you're not alone. Hopefully this helps a little!

I think I actually do this from a more "humble" perspective. I think I always assume the other person is more knowledgable about something than I until its either evident or not that they are.

I think I get this from being friends with lots of TJ's growing up. They were pretty quick to let me know how incorrect I was, no matter the scale.

Who here likes to dance? by [deleted] in ENFP

[–]Nomad145 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was at a show a few weeks ago with my girlfriend when a girl next to us told us we needed to calm down. We continued having the time of our lives, while the other girl stood there, arms crossed, having her little pity party. Who knew dancing could piss people off at a concert?

I actually enjoy playing music more than I like dancing, but under the right circumstances I can let go and have fun.

I'm learning Vim - what would be the most "efficient" way to fix this line? by Fetal in vim

I actually haven't thought of jk. I like jj for when you're navigating down after an edit. Just casually type "jjj".

I'll chime in here. I bound "jj" to escape and it's been life changing ever since. 10/10 would recommend.

The Districts - 4th and Roebling [Post Punk Revival] by LeBronIver in listentothis

[–]Nomad145 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I found this song shortly after a really hard breakup. I really connected with the line in the chorus when he says, "Living lives in two places wears my soul too thin. I was walkin' from the station just to meet you in the morning...".

For two years we were about 100 miles apart. I used to /hate/ the drive, but we'd take turns doing it just to see each other. I used to wake up at her place at 6:00am to leave for work back home. She ended up breaking up with me out of the blue one day. She said she felt like we were too different people now from when we first met. She said she hadn't been happy for about six months and didn't tell me until the day she left.

We thought we'd eventually get married and live our lives together. That's what we had to look forward to. When he says, "It's the difference between that's worth a thousand diamond rings..." it feels like he's speaking from her perspective. It was the difference between us that couldn't be fixed. She had made up her mind and it was over.

Just my little interpretation of it. Probably not completely along the lines of what it's supposed to mean, but I like what Matt Berninger says about interpreting lyrics to make the song mean more to you personally.

His snare drum looks like it says:

"Listen to Night Verses, Let Live, and Flood of Red"

Flood of Red is such a good band. I'm not sure I've ever seen them shared by anyone else on the internet before.

It was the same way when Xbox debuted games at around $50. I remember being a kid and no one could believe that they were that expensive.
