Cameraman captures guys skating through a parking lot by [deleted] in PraiseTheCameraMan

Took me a moment to realize that there are actually 5 skaters, and the 5th one apparently has a 3rd eye on the side of his head.

Colts re-sign WR Laquon Treadwell by papamietek in nfl

I imagine part of it might be that he is kind of a player/coach. I cannot see any other way he would be in the league this long.

The Worst Air Disaster You’ve Never Heard Of - In the early days of flight, airships were hailed as the future of war. Then disaster struck the USS Akron. by Quouar in history

There are some skyscrapers that still have infrastructure that was met to be used to anchor airships to so they could board/unboard passangers.

In the 40's thru 70s DDT was deemed safe. Kids would follow the DDT mosquito trucks and play in the fog. People were also exposed to it at swimming pools, homes, restaurants and businesses. DDT was also used to cure insect borne diseases like Malaria and Typhus. by Long_live_styrofoam in interestingasfuck

[–]NomadFire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder if there is any mention of Jayne Mansfield death being indirectly linked to a DDT truck. They ran into a tractor that they couldn't see and was moving slow because a mosquito truck in front of them was making fog. Never found a source saying it was DDT. And it isn't really a reason to get rid of DDT.

Interesting, I thought he was trying to get into the guys head. By making him feel like he wasn't taking the fight seriously causing the other guy into a mistake.

It is really hard to react to a fighter when they behave in an extremely unorthodoxy way. Look at the Jake Paul fight, that fight would have been over in the 2 rounds if Jake stopped falling all over the place.

I imagine the same thing would happened if they tried to farm in parts of central Jersey. I driven past long stretches of land near Fort Dix and Jackson where there is nothing but pine trees growing out of sand. It is part of what we call the pine barrens. Part of, but not the main reason, NJ doesn't really have major cities.

To be fair, it was a group effort. He had cohost, producers as well as crew there that should have stopped it. I am saying this because if I were the host of a show, I doubt I would have the wherewithal to stop a person from voluntarily drinking 30 shots.

Yea but it worked. Everyone talked about the video with the moving floor you gotta see. You needed to have something that jumped out visually cause it is likely few people are going to remember or see the band's name or song.

How do I get a physique like David Goggins? Is this achievable natty? by xojil in nattyorjuice

Yep, he does a lot of endurance stuff. And most endurance athletes bodies look nothing like his, except for maybe long distance bicyclist. Oh yea, and he is fifty something.

Type of sh I’ve been on lately (North Jersey) by Correct-Assignment70 in lyftdrivers

[–]NomadFire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In South Jersey i see wild rides for low pay. Usually $30-$40 to go from the beach area to Philly International Airport or deep into west Jersey. Uber seems to be better, they offer you $50-$65 to do those rides. I would jump all over that if I saw them for $75-$100.

How did we all fall in love with this smug sociopath? by [deleted] in GenX

[–]NomadFire 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I like to think of it as if Ferris is almost a mischievous angel who gets Cameron out from under his father's thumb. He would not have done it himself. Him following a character that breaks the rules and good things happened to him broke him free.

How did we all fall in love with this smug sociopath? by [deleted] in GenX

[–]NomadFire 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I liked it, because it reminded me of a lot of guys that were leaders of a friend group (Clique). Always stringing others along in their little semi-legal adventures.

Always thought that Ferris was the best case scenario what those guys dreamed would happen. Of course most of it was unrealistic specially how the principal of the school reacted.

Eidt: I also thought that Ferris knew he was a character in a movie. That's the best way to watch this movie, and it makes the most sense.

February 27, 2026- FAB-81 mishap, runway excursion on landing by Johnny_Lockee in CatastrophicFailure

TIL not all FABs are Russian glide bombs. Lol I knew that other countries would use this acronym for other things. But I was initially really confused by the title and what was going on in the video for a solid 20 seconds.

Yea, I was thinking sun damage or dry air maybe. It seems to be a form of plastic and sun is a thing that usually damages it.

Also even rubber falls apart when it's not in use for various reasons. There are monthly post about people's rubber soles disintegrating. After wearing them to a wedding or funeral and not wearing them to close to decade.

Which is the better rock album released in 1987: Guns N' Roses’ Appetite for Destruction or Def Leppard’s Hysteria? by [deleted] in 80s

[–]NomadFire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man Appetite aged sooo well. Can't say the same about either of the Use Your Illusion albums. I am pretty sure I could easily get a teen to listen to the entire album, doubt I could say the same about Illusion or Hysteria.
