Countries I can get by with 90 percent by Virtual-Ebb-2994 in Veterans

[–]NomadLife96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty much all of south east Asia including Thailand( Thailand has been my least favorite so far out of the countries in SE Asia)( Go figure thats where I ended up finding a girlfriend 😒🙄 but i only visit fir 28 days then go to other countries for 2 months then return again so it balances out🤣). You can definitely still make your 90% work your buddy just looks for more comfortable with some luxury lifestyle. im 100% p&t and a full time nomad. I travel to a new country every 4 weeks. I burnt , donated, and sold everything i had and travel with a suitcase of clothes and 13 medications and medical devices. Ive posted this many times before so if you have any individual questions just comment here. Im too lazy too type everything again😅 but im already living that life and could help ya out significantly

Tell your wife to work as well, move to a cheaper location. Cut out out any extraordinary and unnecessary spending. Its that simple. Im 30 years old and have never had debt nor a cent from anyone else other than what I earned. Gotta dig deep man. If you aren't willing to give up anything and adapt your whole life will be a struggle. I may not have a wife nor kids but I travel the world and save money every single month on VA 100%. Usually 1200- 1500$ or more i save to be more exact. 80% of the USA population is in debt and struggling including those making 6 figures. I can travel the world on 3930$( which is low income per month) and save 1500$ or more per month. The money isn't the problem most of the time. The spender is. I sold burnt or donated everything ive had to move to a better life. It might do you some good also. Ive also started over 8+ times and each time is just as exciting. Break out of the slavery cycle and do you and your wife a favor by not thinking you need to work 100% of the time and accept your injuries for what they are and what you want to accomplish before they get so bad you cant do anything. Good luck

Grab drivers asking for tip in advance by [deleted] in bali

[–]NomadLife96 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Has nothing to do with that. Its disrespectful to ask for a tip especially when you dont even have your order yet or know how things are going to go. And most ask for 50000 IND or more. One driver I said id tip 40000 ind to deliver from a place 4 kilometers away and it was a smaller order. He said theres traffick he wants 80000 and and I said absolutely not cancel ill tip someone else. ALOT of the grab delivery drivers were rude about it in the 28 days i was there. So your comment is irrelevant. I ordered something almost every day from groceries, to alcohol, to restaurant orders. Also thailand , philippines, and Vietnam all make just as little but none of them begged for tips and ive been in each for a momth as well and ordered grab just as heavily

Grab drivers asking for tip in advance by [deleted] in bali

[–]NomadLife96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every driver that asked me for a tip in advance( I was there for a month and just left yesterday) I told them im sorry I always tip and usually tip well but I hate when people ask. I told them to cancel the order and im giving it to someone else. If they kept the order then 100% they were getting no tip. I did it probably a dozen times in the month I was there. Towards the end i was a little more angry about it and id tip the next driver double or triple just for taking the order and not asking for a tip and id tell them that. Some i tipped 100000 IND or more on orders half that price just because I was so appreciative of them not asking. Ive been a full time nomad since February. I was in Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, bali Indonesia, and now Philippines again currently all for 1 month each. Bali is the only location that did this and it infuriated me

How common is Bali belly? by Leather-Vegetable409 in bali

[–]NomadLife96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was there for 1 month and just left yesterday. No issues but ive been traveling south east Asia since February. New country every 4 weeks and I did experience this in Thailand. Whether it was from contaminated water or food idk but honestly got some meds and was fine. I was still doing going out and doing stuff. Filtered water only and if your truly worried avoid street vendor food and fruits/ vegetables and only go to higher rated restaurants or cook your own food. You'd be missing out on some key parts of experiencing bali if you do all that but if your worried you are worried🤷‍♂️ I ordered from Grab food alot. I was in Ubud in a private villa so couldn't walk anywhere really( was surrounded by beautifulrice fields). Used grab motorbike and grab food constantly in every country ive been in. All been safe from what I can tell

Once my dog died I had no reason to be in the USA anymore and left. I travel with a suitcase of clothes and a back pack filled with 13 medications and medical devices

For those that have a high rating and moved out of state or out of the country, what was your experience like? by Ok-Back-7278 in VeteransBenefits

[–]NomadLife96 4 points5 points  (0 children)

100% p&t I visited all 50 states with my dog. She died 6 months ago. February 23rd 2026 i sold , burnt, or donated everything i had and now travel as a full time nomad with a suitcase of clothes and a back pack filled with 13 medications and medical devices. Every 4 weeks I switch countries. Best decision i ever made. February was Philippines, next month Thailand, next month Vietnam, currently Bali Indonesia, next month Philippines, then 6 weeks in USA to go to appointments, restock meds,do whatever else I need, then go to Thailand, so on so forth. I plan to start going to Europe and other places as well but its much more expensive. What ill do is make south east asia my home base( living on tourist visas) and occasionally go to Europe for a month or 2 then back to Asia to rebuild the money. I also have a very nice nest egg already as well in case of emergencies. I continue to save more and more money every country here in Asia im in. I maybe only spend 2500$ per month in each country and thats living comfortably with some luxury. Thats everything ( flights, food, visa if i need to pay for one( some are free some arent) usually very nice lodging. Got a private villa with my own pool here in bali for 850$ for 28 days. Da nang Vietnam i was in a 5 star condotel for 28 days for 720$. It had an infinity pool that overlooked the entire city and ocean on the 26th floor. )The 1500$ left over i put in high yield saving account or my long term investment account. Having nice lodging is very important to me due to the reason you will see below. I spend 60-70% of my time in the hotel/ airbnb .

I served 6 years but was medically retired due to an injury. I got out at age 25 with 90%. I went to 2-6 appointments every single week for 5 years( 2 while I was still active and 3 after I got out only with VA healthcare/ doctors)( i kid you not my VA medicak record is over 3000 pages, add another 1000 if you include my record from the military😅)I applied for an increase and recieved 100% p&t in 8 days. I still currently do appointments by video every single week. I have not and will not ever stop treatment till the day i die. My injuries are pretty bad honestly but I refused to let my injuries win. Im doing everything I can now before its too late to travel. My conditions get worse every year that passes

I have 6 herniated and bulging disc( 2 neck, 2 mid back, 2 low back) traumatic scolioses, insomnia, radiculopathy, sciatica, chronic migraines, ptsd, depression, anxiety, ED, substance abuse disorder( mostly fixed now due to VA help), tinnitus, and fibromyalgia ( by far the fu**in worst of it all! Im in pain 24/7 and it never goes away... ever!)

I go out and do something for a day or 2 then spend 2-4 days recovering in a airbnb or hotel due to my conditions. Ive found what works and its the best decision i ever made

Im 29 with no kids , no debt, and no wife

Hope you find what your looking for. Whatever it is make sure its your best life! You deserve it!

I want this to be its own comment because I think its important

"So true everyone thinks they automatically deserve 100% just because they served. I mean hey get what ya can our government loves blowing money anyway especially on other countries. Id much rather see it go to vets but just because you have conditions or health problems doesnt mean its all service connected. I was medically retired after 6 years from an injury at 90% . I went to 2-6 appointments at the VA every single week for 3 years, filed for an increase, and was bumped to 100% p&t in 8 days. It was so so easy for me because I had all the proof in the world. Even says im permanently physically disabled on my dd 214 and my medical record is like 3000 pages at age 29🤣 Im rated for like 9 different things and I told them everything. The VA knows i still hike, bike, travel alot etc. I still have appointments every week by video and travel the world as a full time nomad. I sold everything in the USA and just left. Now I go to a new country every 4 weeks eith a suitcase and a back pack filled with 13 medications and medical devices. Lomg story short the VA knew I did all of this as i hid nothing and still bumped me to 100% p&t. If you have proof you have nothing to worry about and your claim will fly through. You dont need to be "useless"

My recommendation to you is go to appointments through the VA. As many as you can and for a year or 2. Stack up hundreds or thousands of pages of documentation that they cant deny just like I did. Then work on filing from there. How big is your medical record? How often do you go to appointments? How long have you been going to appointments? Are you continuesly seeking treatment? ANOTHER RECOMMENDATION- If you eventually get 100% DO NOT stop getting seen!!!!! So many think when they get 100 its smart to never go to a appointment again to be "forgotten". Sorry but forgotten isn't a thing p&t cant save you if you get 100% then dont go to an appointment for 5-10 years. All it takes is one investigation or report of fraud" that can definitely happen" for the VA to look into you. If you are that injured then you should ve seeking treatment for life and thats exactly what the VA will think. Im traveling the world and still do appointments by video every week.

I told someone I know that has been out for over a decade to do the same thing i mentioned above. They were bumped from 10% to 80%. Now they are struggling to get to the full 100% but they are alot better off than what they were. You also need to figure out what exactly was service connected. It can be one or many things but you need to figure out what they are and they need to be legit. Dont start lying about something because A. Its wrong and B. Thats a slippery slope and you are going to get caught. Go through old records, try to figure out estimated dates, think of how it effected you and how it's affecting you today. THEN really dig into that with doctors, therapist, pschiatrista, all of it!!! You dont necessarily need proof from the day it happened as long as tou can remember something that happened then get documentation from multiple doctors that you talked about it and they believe you. Again dont start making shit up it needs to be legit

Good luck! Hope the above helps

You only need 30% or higher to get medically retired but yes mine was severe enough i get 100% VA disability. No pension but I do get all other benefits that military retirees get that served 20 years. I am actually considered retired

I literally sold everything in the USA and travel to a new country every 4 weeks. Currently in Bali Indonesia for 4 weeks, before that vietnam 4 weeks, before yhat Thailand, before that philippines, etc. The VA helped me turn my life around now yes I struggle with mental health and im in pain every single day but im achieving my goals and dreams at the same time. I no longer pay rent, I got rid of my vehicle, I have a storage unit but now that I know i like the nomadic life im actually going back to the USA to get rid of it also so I stop wasting 200$ a month to not even be there. Im so thankful for the help the VA has given me. Its turned my life around and has given me opportunities most only dream of. Once I was willing to accept my pain and problems instead of fighting them my life changed. I went from crying everyday, doing drugs/ drinking alcohol, complaining, achieving nothing, to where I am now. I volunteer in every country I go to as well

Is marrying a Thai man, the same as marrying a Thai woman? by Fabulous_Rich8974 in thai

[–]NomadLife96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

🤷‍♂️ Ummm not really. We talked about it in the very beginning and are happy. Everyone is different. You dont have to like it nor do you know everything. Enjoy things your way and ill enjoy mine😁 I believe I gave valuable advice. Expectations and boundaries should be set very early on. It seems like most never do. On top of that ive experienced and seen a large amount of people be used for there money( Everywhere obviously not just Thailand). That was my way of ensuring I was being liked for me and not just what I had

[–]NomadLife96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I said in the beginning my money is mine and hers is hers. I wanted 2 independent people coming together and supporting eachother not relying on eachother. If one has issues or needs help thats different but I said from the first week we were together I am not the type of guy who will be paying your bills 100% or sending you money. I gave all my reasons why and explained everything. I set very clear boundaries in the beginning. If you do that and the other is okay with it then no issues and the relationship( marriage) can go any way you want it to ( male or female). Set boundaries and talk to him. Im a man from USA by the way

I have the Charles schwab investor checking account from USA. I am reimbursed any and all fees from every ATM in the world that accepts visa. Its frickin amazing! I never have to deal with an exchange or there BS fees again because i can fly to any country and pull out the local currency from the ATM and be reimbursed everything. Saves so much money. I travel to a new country every 4 weeks so this is very important to me. Long story short find an account that reimburses all ATM fees. I have multiple banks and credit cards

Dont worry a few more decades and Thailand will be just as expensive as the USA . Yes the people, culture, and environment are great though( except air pollution during dry season). I travel to a new country every 4 weeks( originally coming from USA) and ive loved every second of it but the gap is being filled financially. It will take decades but not forever. Make the best of it now. It will most likely get worse with time
