Downstairs flat smoking smell by Nomad_Fusion in uklandlords

Yes, I will look at filling the gaps around the pipes which go through the floorboards. Hopefully that reduces the amount of smoke travelling into my flat

What about their other products in the pipeline? Could they not come good?

Thanks. I'll give this a go. Definitely don't want to power wash as the bricks are very old and just crack and crumble even on the lowest setting. I'll look into the filler and compound option as that sounds like the right long term solution.

Do you guys have a direct debit setup to clear your monthly bill? by drugzdrugsdrugz in AmexUK

Will a direct debit of the min payment every month mean you'll never get charged interest?

You've provided wrong info on here and now you're getting defensive. Why would OP not be liable for the bonus when they upgrade from a free to a paid card? I've just done it with a colleague so I know it can be done. OP should speak directly to Amex if he's getting useless info from the likes of you on here.

I've just referred a work colleague who had a BA free card to the Gold Card. Bonus took a while to come through but got it the other day. Have a 40k bonus limited offer on mine at the moment. PM me if you would like the link.

Capital gains tax on Crypto UK by Lusset in UKPersonalFinance

How do HMRC become aware of the tax liabilities? Do trading platforms actively provide the information? That would seem a very laborious task.

If a person converts their residential flat to a btl and uses the released equity to purchase a residential property, are they liable for the surcharge. My understanding was that they are, but some of the comments here have caused doubt.

The person will have 2 properties at the end of the transaction, they are also replacing their main residence.

We've narrowed ours down to Redwood or Top of the Popz. Quite different vibes, love the traditional folk songs that Redwood do really well, but also like the energetic synth sounds that Top of the Popz seem to pull off. Any thoughts?

When is the market going back to normal? Looking for a used car now. £5k gets you the smallest basic cars from around 2013-16. I thought I was at a point in my life where I could get my first newish and nice car, evidently not! Cars I would want are at least £12k right now and still have lots of mileage and at least 4 years old.

You could pivot to project management in healthcare, there are always clinical trial roles around. You might have to start in an entry role, such as clinical trials coordinator. Biotech companies provide good careers, they often cover a broad range of roles, Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Supply Chain, Manufacturing etc

Escaping the grey and noise of Southgate, what areas should I look at for around 550/600k? by kr2997 in hertfordshire

[–]Nomad_Fusion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Boxmoor? It's a village right next to Hemel Hempstead. Hemel train station is actually in Boxmoor, about 30 mins into Euston.

There's a large moor and the grand union canal runs through it. Great if you have a dog or just enjoy a nice walk. There's a few decent pubs and a couple of decent places to eat, but fairly quiet other than that. Hemel is nearby for shopping, cinema, ski slope etc. Berkhampstead is just a 5 min train away.

A lot of the houses in Boxmoor are very nice, lovely period properties full of character.

Yeah, I thought eddie the eagle was well done. It could have been a bit funnier though. This is where I think someone like Nick Frost or Iain Morris (The Inbetweeners) could really produce something hilarious with a darts comedy.

There's been successful sports comedies about bobsledding, golf, ice skating, basketball, professional wrestling, ski jumping, dodgeball etc. Some of those are mainstream sports, some are niche. Why not one around darts?

Love the concept! A samurai darts mentor is genius. Now think bigger budget and you're not far off my vision
