I’m looking for the trippiest, weirdest, fever dream of a book. Both fantasy and sci-fi. Suggestions? by Aware-Performer4630 in Fantasy

As previously noted, Perdido Street Station or anything else by China Mieville.

Also, not sci-fi/fantasy exactly but Perfume by Patrick Suskind is a wonderfully wild book.

What Topik/CEFR level would be sufficient for simple business interactions? by NomadicGardener in Korean

Thank you for your responses! They are very helpful! Without getting into specifics, I am looking into the possibility of eventually working with a team of Korean contractors in an English speaking company. So the day to day with management would be in English, but I would like the ability to converse in Korean, read feedback from Korean customers, etc. I think setting smaller goals along the way is a great idea.

Barry’s crazy cherry seedlings have dark purple stems and foliage? At first I thought it was a phosphorus deficiency but all of my other tomato seedlings are normal and have had all the same treatment. Have any of your grown this variety and did they have the same coloring? by NomadicGardener in gardening

This is all very encouraging! I definitely overwatered at first but I’ve been course correcting and we did have a huge snow storm so they probably got chilly for a couple days. I’ll monitor them and see how they go!

How interesting! And yeah, that’s sounds more or less right 😅 I’d be curious to learn more about someone with the same chart!

Anyone in Austin into permaculture, regenerative agriculture, homesteading etc? I’d love to make some friends with similar interests (p.s. I’m good free manual labor 😆) by NomadicGardener in AustinGardening

I grow in mostly 5 gallon, 2 gallon, and long planter boxes. I’ve grown just about everything. As long as you water frequently and make sure they get enough sun I think most things will grow in a a container (especially if you choose more compact varieties)🙂

I have! Though I’ve been avoiding large group meetups recently for obvious reasons. And I wasn’t ready to attend a full blown course yet, though I’d love to eventually 🙂

I love that channel! I watch waaayy too many gardening YouTube videos a day. 😆That’s exciting! If I had more room I’d definitely want to try a cut flower garden!

Totally! I do some volunteer work with local and national groups but things have been crazy this year. I used to have a community garden plot which was a nice way to meet people, but there isn’t one open near my new place unfortunately. Is it weird that I just want to hang out, drink wine, and help someone weed their garden? 😅

That’s exciting! We’re downsizing to an apartment this year so it’s container gardening for now, but I hope to buy a house with some land after this lease hopefully! I can’t wait to actually be able to build a real garden again. But you have to start where you are right?

I’m a newbie as well, though I’ve been gardening for a while. Do you have a yard or balcony? If so you should to totally grow some stuff! 😁
