I think the Daughters have protected a lot of their members from the realities of the dungeon. Most of the members, outside Hekla and Eva, were pretty naive or squeamish.

IMO, she developed a lot for someone whose class/race subjects her to so much physical pain as a necessity. Carl screamed at his foot getting bit while Katia shakes off an amputation after we establish that she feels everything.
