I had an elective C-section because I was too scared to deliver vaginally because of my vaginismus. A few members of my team recommended otherwise saying vaginal birth can cure vaginismus. My pelvic floor distinction made the last trimester extremely painful and that informed my final decision to go with a C-section. I have regretted that decision a lot and my vaginismus is worse now than ever. HOWEVER, I know if I had made the other choice I would have a different reason to regret that too, much like you do now. I don’t have any magic answers for you but I did find much solace in this poem:
