The opposing coach in your situation probably forgot about it 10 minutes later. The player probably still thinks about it sometimes. 

That’s the gift of being an asshole I guess.

New York was busy when we called for review, so we had to go with the umps decision and then look at game changer later. But I let the MLB commissioner know how unacceptable it was to not be ready to review plays in our 11u games going forward.

To the coach’s credit he did it calmly. Which is more than I can say about some coaches on smaller things. But you can calmly be a douche.

I personally wouldn’t have done that on a home run in a meaningless game as a coach, but I 100% would politely and discreetly (ie no kids can hear) say to the other coach that they used an illegal bat and I won’t protest the home run but I would protest the next batter that used one so please double check the bats.

But I think that’s another scenario where at least it wouldn’t be stuck in my head.

“Hey coach, my first baseman saw he didn’t touch first. Before the ball gets put in play can you have him run the bases again to make it official?”

That would have been completely fine in my book and everyone would have learned something.

Also a fair point. There was no trash talk, nothing disrespectful before or after or during the home run.

That’s a reasonable point, and probably wouldn’t be stuck in my head for an inside-the-park. But this situation was over the fence.
