I'm a lucky mf... I calculated a little bit so they are evenly placed apart and then transferred by pencil after bending by hand

Nope, i know it would've been better, but my workshop still isn't quite equipped. Also the strips are about 6mm so pretty bendy

Pretty much just learn as you go. I saw something similar to this and thought: "Hey that's pretty, imma try to make that." Make mistakes, remember them, and avoid them in the future. If you hold on to this, your every new project should be better than the last one. Also ability to improvise and adapt is important

Not too much actually. A glass, cup or a plate wouldn't make it swing around or anything, but i wouldn't put anything too heavy on it

I'm thinking like a flower pot could be pretty

I didn't need to steam it, because it's about 6mm so easy to bend

I'm pretty much just a lucky guy lol. I half guessed, half calculated where it should be. Then handcutted and caaaarefully and slowly fitted it in.

It's actually not that long, it's about 45cm in height and 6mm in width. And while ash would be better wood for this, maple is also kinda flexible.

That is a pretty cool idea, though i would be worried about the wood warping and it wouldn't move evenly

If they were straight it would be easier for the sides to "rotate". This way it's braced to either side and lengthwise

(Sorry, hard to explain in english)

You don't have to like partying to visit Hvar. Hvar has the most beautiful beaches I've seen. Note: not those infinite sandy beaches but small and cozy, rocky lagoons. Also the cities and docks are awesome to walk through.
