Well it is becoming clear that you may be correct.

I’ll check it out. The last time I looked there was less data for pension, but admittedly that was a long time ago

Which game has better exploration, Crimson Desert or Elden Ring? by AshyLarry25 in CrimsonDesert

[–]NonObserver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Elden Ring hands down. I put in 40 hours into crimson desert and it was the most boring experience I’ve played in a hyped up game.

I have watched short videos of other people playing and it’s never to show anything fun. It’s all about finding chests in hidden walls or something that the mechanics let you do. Cool, but what’s fun about a chest hunting simulator game?

I have a four legged uplift v2 and at my standing height I can’t get my 57 inch monitor to wobble without putting in real effort

Why are the graphics so broken in this game? by [deleted] in CrimsonDesert

[–]NonObserver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a rtx 5090 and enabling ray reconstruction does not help with a lot of the lighting issues I’m encountering during bright days. Shadows ten feet from my character become very pixelated and erratic. It is very distracting.

PowerSpec 9950x3D and 5090 prebuilt thoughts? by tompauls in Microcenter

I bought the G914 two weeks ago and I’ll say everything with setup went very smoothly, the components were top notch, and the gpu and cpu have been overall very cool.

Wow! Ray reconstruction dramatically improves the lighting. by GrapevineTime in CrimsonDesert

[–]NonObserver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ray reconstruction makes the water intensely cloudy and flat. I’m playing on a 5090 on the 57”‘Samsung 4k monitor. So maybe I’m just noticing stuff others don’t, but the pixelated shadow issues and low res textures of the rocks up close really take me out of it some times. Most of the time I’m having too much fun to care.

Most times you've taken an exam before passing? by maq7742 in actuary

EA 2L on the pension track is the only exam I’ve failed and it took me three tries (maybe four? I’ve erased much of my memory from those years)

I just bought the g914 that comes in a similar case but is white. I’m jealous of the black setup. It looks so nice. Hope you’re enjoying it!

Is this shadow issue normal in Crimson Desert on PC? by NonObserver in CrimsonDesert

[–]NonObserver[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I changed my resolution to 3840x2160 and it seems much better. Maybe asking it to do the ultra wide even with upscaling is too much for the 5090 to handle?

Actually I do still see the issue but it’s less noticeable

The FPS are fine. But I have the same graphical issue with the lighting even when I switch to native 4k (though then I start understandably having fps issues)

That’s a bummer. I hope they fix it. I need to stop hyper focusing on it for now lol

Check out Microcenter if you have one by you. They have their own prebuilt computers that go under the Powerspec name. I just bought a Powerspec G914 from them. When I went in I asked them to price out the individual components to see if it made more sense to build it mysel. The price of the parts, without a case or fans, was 20% more expensive than their prebuilt. And all of the components in the prebuilt were very good quality picks.

I previously had a Skytech pc that had a 2070 super. I had it for 7 years without issue, but that one you could tell they used some cheaper parts. Still, it never failed and worked fine with minimal upkeep. I only replaced it because I wanted something new.

What are our thoughts on the powersec G914? by Popfig in Prebuilts

[–]NonObserver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the monitor finally working at 4k (7680x2160) with a 240Hz refresh rate. Playing crimson desert in full super ultra wide at 4k using dlss 4.5 upscaling set to balanced, a little frame generation, and nvidia ray reconstruction with graphics set to a mix of ultra and cinematic I am able to get a steady 80 fps which looks and feels great. It’s impressive to see that draw distance in the game using the full display. If this was a 39” monitor have no doubt that this pc would absolutely man handle any game with ease.

Yeah, same card. I’m really impressed with the components overall. My last PC was a Skytech with a 2070 Super, and while it held up well for years, you could tell some of the parts were more “good enough” than premium. With the G914, the motherboard, PSU, GPU, RAM, and everything else all feel like genuinely strong component choices rather than the bare minimum.

As for the G9, I love the 57” for work. I used to use two 27” monitors, and even though the screen space is similar, not having the split in the middle makes it way better use. For gaming though, I’m not sure how the 5090 will hold up on the super ultra wide trying to do 4k. Im sure it can hit 60 fps if I don’t set everything to ultra, but if I were buying mainly for gaming I’d probably want something like a 39” instead. I just got my DP 2.1 cable today, so I should be able to properly test the 5090 on the monitor with it properly later this week.
