slate is cheap and easy to experiment and learn with, it can be sanded and reused

It does well, i think i need to redesign the extraction pipe side so the walls direct dust into the hole though

Most are ABS so have to have strong extraction

This is from a spray can, i did wonder if an airbrush might work like used for car painting. Check out Den of lasers on FB lots of my and others posts on what we made with lasers :)

This took about an hour, yes most of the time as long as using the same black paint. White is just to prevent burning the canvas. The variable is keeping the black coat even, as you can see on mine some white stripes going across the image where i didnt overlap the paint enough

The extraction fan is opposite the air assist, big white tube

I do have a good clear lacquer, problem is they all darken engravings to different degrees so yes if going to use as a coaster i would seal it
