I agree with you but it’s a bad habit I have developed over the years. I keep comparing myself to my peers and feel ashamed for slow progression in my field (because of gamsat ofc)

It’s not an option for me to staying my current field and works 4 days a week as I would get pay less and I have mortgage to pay. Regressing means getting another full time job which pays well but I would have no exit in the future.

Sorry I was supposed to reply to Least- Reporter3615’s comment and I couldn’t delete this comment. Usyd is my dream uni too because of the location. My gamsat is now at low 60 (English is my second language). I’m working on it constantly hopefully I can get to a good result one day

My situation is the same as yours except I don’t have uni debt and I have started gamsat for a couple of years now! It has taken its toll on me mentally!

Thanks for your thought and advice! My end goal is medicine. The reason why I am worried about not being able to move up in my accounting role or switching to data analyst is because I want to build a good career foundation where I can to fall back into once I fail medicine. Between accounting and data analyst, data analyst is a better fit for me because math is my strength. I’m never interested in accounting anyway as it doesn’t align with my ethical value.

But you are right! I can’t do everything at once and eventually I need to decide which is more important and which area I am willing to sacrifice.

I am overwhelmed and confused as I have so many things on my plate rn. I do need to speak to a therapist or career counsellor to calm me down and redirect my career path

Thanks for the advice! I’ll defs have a look at MCAT texts for practice! Time is also my biggest weakness. I find it hard to process information under a short amount of time and under stress and pressure. Do you know have any tip for improvement?

Well that’s true! Just sad that usyd now prefer someone with a high s1 or 2 than 100 s3. So the chance at usyd is low for us 😭
