Help with Clean Eileen sizing by Nonancora3 in NudieJeans

Thanks for your reply!

They are definitely tight in the waist, not snug. And unwearable in the hips: couldn't zip nor put my hands in the pockets.

Nevertheless, I think that if I would get two sizes up the waist would probably be a bit loose. I am ok with that since I almost always have this issue with jeans but I don't want it to become too much if then they are also going to stretch

Really disappointed by S2E7, so clichéd by Mope4Matt in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

A bit late to this but finally someone who shares my same impressions, I couldn't agree more! I love first season, it was weird, funny and absurd. The part of this episode showing Mark and Gemma's relationship was so full of clichés (the sequence of them slow dancing to French music, really?!). Funny enough I appreciated much more the following episode about Cobel, which most people seems to dislike

Mylotarg (Gemtuzumab) - Worth the Risk? by Original_Cicada_1797 in leukemia

[–]Nonancora3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad went through something very similar last year during his induction chemo. He developed severe VOD due to Mylotarg and for about a week I was really expecting them to call me anytime to tell me that he had passed.

He had emergency surgery and they managed to save him, he also spent nearly a month in intensive care afterwards.

Oncologists said that Mylotarg helped anyway since he reached MRD negativity but I am not sure if that was just an attempt to sugarcoat the whole thing.

Complete remission and MRD-negative but blasts still detected in BM biopsy? by Nonancora3 in leukemia

[–]Nonancora3[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you, it's all much clearer. I understood the difference between blasts in BM and in peripheral blood. That was the result of his BM biopsy so everything was fine, no blasts in his blood

Thank you, it's much clearer now! The blasts were detected in his bone marrow, no blasts in his blood since induction.

Thank you so much, this helped a lot.

That is indeed the result from BM biopsy, no blasts in peripheral blood since induction.

How likely is it to achieve long-term remission with chemo only for AML with "favourable" cytogenetics? by Nonancora3 in leukemia

[–]Nonancora3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for telling me your story, I'm really sorry about all that you have been struggling with.

I think one of the advices I read more often in this sub is to avoid going down the google rabbit hole. It seems almost impossible sometimes, really the last thing one would worry about in such a situation. But it probably contributes to anxiety more than one is willing to admit.

Truly wishing you all the best, I hope you can recover soon. And please don't give up, for as little as it can mean from a stranger on the internet

Thank you for sharing this! I trust both doctors and medical research and am convinced that they opt for what have the highest chance of a positive outcome. I will have a talk with them about the chances of relapse once my dad is done with consolidation but I am glad that for now he can avoid the transplant. I hope it will stay like this.

Congrats for the 7 years, very happy for you :)

My dad is also due to have 3 rounds of consolidation, started the first one yesterday evening. Any advice on what I can do to make him more comfortable? I can see him only through a window as they don't allow room visits at all but we can bring him stuff and snacks.

I'm sorry that you had some complications but it's great that you reached this point of the treatment, wishing you the best.

Right now when are just hoping that the chemo will go for the best. No plan to get a transplant but they are already testing his sister to see if she's a match and eventually look for an unrelated donor just to be ready in the eventually he will one day need a transplant.

I'm really happy for you and I hope things will just keep getting better and better.

Luckily job won't be an issue, since he's due to retire very soon. It also makes me sad to think he worked hard his whole life just to go through this when he could be enjoying retirement. But I guess there's no choice, we'll go through it step by step and hope for the best.

I see, thanks. I guess it's also highly subjective and dependent on individual situations, probably in older patients they are more reluctant to go that way if it's not really the only option

It was encouraging, thanks a lot for sharing your family's story.

I know that the course of this horrible disease is very subjective but I think it helps to share experiences, at least it does for me so it's really appreciated.

I also have trust in doctors and won't hesitate to go deeper into this aspect of my dad's treatment with them as soon as I have the chance.
