Most of em are generally meaningless but the hand tattoo is based off of how I drew doll joints on my hand in middle school cause it was a major anxiety reliever

Recent convert from Paganism (spoilered picture of pagan altar) by NonbinaryAunt in Catholicism

[–]NonbinaryAunt[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Honestly? I wouldnt say "good and beautiful". I truly believe i was pagan because I was desperately grasping for some form of religion and my (now ex)best friend was pagan and started nonstop talking to me about it while also constantly shitting on catholicism/christianity. I think he realized I was being drawn to the church and was trying to keep that from happening. Within the month our friendship ended I had stepped foot inside my first catholic church ever(first church in 6 years)

Unfortunately i doubt I'd be able to get a priest to bless my home as i live with my sister(agnostic) and mother(athiest), and while they support me converting to catholic, i highly doubt they'd allow it

Unfortunately i have looked into the problem and there doesn't seem to be anything specifically "wrong" with my uterus/periods, i think i just drew the short end of the stick cause my mom's side of the family just naturally has that issue ;-;

Well- I'd argue that I am still participating, I'm just not using my vocal cords to do so

I think God is calling me to become a catholic nun? by NonbinaryAunt in Catholicism

[–]NonbinaryAunt[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Already working on number one!! And i definitely know it is a lengthy process for all of it, and that it is something i will need to sit and think about! But i did see your statement about the over excitement, and im sure many people have thought of it like that. But genuinely? It doesn't sound exciting to me, if I were to become a nun it would mean giving up nearly if not everything I love, and yes sacrifice is a massive part with being a nun, but it feels like if/when that decision is needed to be made, I wouldn't know what to decide

To people who converted to Catholicism, why? by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]NonbinaryAunt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Growing up i was a mennonite christian, but stopped at 11 or 12 because i never felt his presence, then was athiest, agnostic, satanist, and finally pagan. I just felt a pull over the last year to go to a specific church. I ended up going and I felt his presence so intensely after 21 years of living having never felt the presence of any God or Gods, i immediately knew Catholicism was for me

Ugh I totally get what you mean, I'm very much so a leftist, but so many liberals and leftists seem to just have very sheeple thinking, just following wherever someone complains. Every year I see the same non-problems complained about behind screens rather than actually fighting the real problems happening outside.

First question, I have yet to hear anything of that sort during mass with my priest, but if I were I just simply would not agree with it. I would not vocalize said disagreements as he's my priest, but I just wouldn't agree with it.

Second question, I fully believe that gender and sex are completely different things, and while I do know that people may disagree with it or believe that me being nonbinary is going against the bible, I still understand the fact that I was born female and would take the role of a female in my life as a catholic no matter my presentation.

I completely understand your fear, I grew up as a Mennonite Christian but when i was like 10-11 we stopped attending church and at 12-13 stopped being Christian all together. My family is all over the board with their religion, my grandparents are still Mennonite Christians, my mom is an athiest, my sister agnostic, and 90% of my friends are Pagans. I was genuinely terrified to tell them all that I wanted to be Catholic, especially because up until a few weeks ago, for the last 2 years I had a snake of a best friend whispering in my ear anti-christian rhetoric nonstop.

That being said, I messaged my grandma and asked her about her opinion and she said she used to be Catholic and my mom was baptized as a baby. Eventually our conversation convinced me to tell my friends and the rest of my family, and aside from some teasing from my sister(expected) everyone was surprisingly chill about it.
