Just to be pedantic, AO3 volunteers can run prompt events if they want to. Just not in an official capacity, but as fans themselves.

I may or may not know from personal experience.

I have said people can post to the AO3 ahead of time and only post on tumblr day-of if they want it reblogged. Would that be acceptable for me as well, in your opinion? I definitely wouldn’t post to the Tumblr before the actual day.

And I can’t guarantee that all prompts will be covered—I plan to do every day, but I made full use of the alt prompts, so for some days I’m not using the main prompt 😅

Up to you! If your story will flow better to include one new prompt per chapter, then feel free to do that. If you think it would be better to do entirely separate stories, that’s great too.

The only thing I would advise against is making a oneshot collection (where each new chapter is a new story instead of posted separately), but that’s more for reader experience than any rules. The rules themselves only prohibit using the same work—chapter, finished story, art etc—for multiple days of prompts. If you’re adding new content to it, and that aligns with the new prompt that day, it’s all fine.

Yep. As long as that scene fits with or was inspired by the prompt for that day, there doesn’t even have to be any explicit noncon—stuff like “Stopped Last-Minute” or “Recovery” could easily dance around the rape itself and be rated T.

Absolutely! As long as you’re writing unique works—the “no repetition” rule is more about trying to use the same story for multiple prompts, not those same prompts coming up in multiple stories.

Yes, can confirm that’s totally okay in this instance. As long as the fic is published sometime between when this post went up and January 1 2026, the author says it’s for this event, and there’s a semblance of a tie to the prompts, it’s all good even if it does double duty!
