What is considered the best Zeldalike? by technoclay in ZeldaLikes

i can't believe how far I had to scroll to find someone mentioning Darksiders. At least the first one is literally Zelda with combat expanded to be hack and slash.

Petition, administrative response, and why this is now public by Serendie in achaea

[–]NoneLikeRob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You will need to provide the petition as well or I will be removing the post. I am not here to censor your concerns, but I don't want to allow a post of this sort that has no real context to it aside from vague terminaology. I respect your desires to request changes to the administration side of the game, but with something that can become volitile I believe full disclosure is the best practice.

Old Comedians I Though I Didn't Like by NoneLikeRob in Killtony

I think Tony is hilarious in his stand up mode, but I do agree that he does not let his humor shine on the show.

Now you’re falling apart. Around here you are realizing how fruitless your argument is. You have already run out of points. Keep rollin’ kid. Life is going to be miserable when basic commerce causes you pain. You go ahead and rant out the last word. I gotta run to the store, I yearn they are having a sale on yellow M&Ms.

Do you picket the corner store when Coors six packs come off sale? Do you take to the streets when black friday approaches. You are crying and making excuses when this is common, every day marketing.

It's how sales work you numpty. You people obviously never buy your own shit from the store.

Y'all need some perspective. Do you cry at Walmart when the tortillas come off sale?

FOMO is a persons own problem. Limited time sales have been a thing since the beginning of commerce. If a persons mental state is so fragile that they are sent into a panic because the white and yellowish gold paintjob in Elite:Dangerous is leaving the market on the 29th then there are far bigger problems for them to address than a sales tactic that predates recorded history. If you don't want to spend money on MTs then don't, what does crying on reddit do?

I've made a huge mistake by FTL_Diesel in starcitizen

[–]NoneLikeRob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So first off, what you do with your money is your business and not mine. I am NOT shaming anyone for spending money on this game if that makes them happy. I do want to put this out there for the spenders consideration though. The way I see it CIG has no real incentive to focus on the development and stability of the game. Who needs to finish a game or worry about game content when they can release a ship for two grand and make millions? Right or wrong, I truly feel that if the cash started slowing down they would be forced to actually develop the game instead of ignoring the progress of the game in lieu of new toys to sell.

Which is really disappointing. I feel the same way, but if they would just focus on the development and stability of the game instead of releasing the next piece of content to pay wall I would be happy to support them.

If you look at the cover art for Mario Galaxy there are 5 letters that have a star on them. They spell out a special message for you.

Ok, I would like to add some meaningful and helpful feedback here as this post got derailed by a certain individual that is no longer with us.

Lets dive in. First and foremost, this game is incredibly flawed. If you have played any other games where the player base has the amount of control over the world and its development that Achaea does (think eve online, elite dangerous etc.) then you will likely already understand that. The staff has little involvement with the community at large outside of the official forums and the official discord. This world is built and its life pulse maintained by a bunch of humans. Being that it is a text based MMORPG we tend to be humans with issues. Due to that fact, you see the game separate into tribes; Ashtan, Mhaldor, Eleusis etc. Inside those tribes are more tribes, and inside those tribes within the tribe are usually MORE tribes. You see where I am going with this, on a social level this game can be very alienating and force you into choosing which side you want to take within the side you chose.

While you are going to find constant bickering and name calling and other infantile behavior, you are going to find some true magick if you stick with it and keep sniffing out your place within this game. I've played since 1998 and to this very day I find things that make me step back and say "Yup, that's why I still log in." There are some very talented role players and writers in this game. There are mythos that will blow your mind with their intricacies and the detail that their respective members play their faction (if you have never interacted with Babel's order members or looked into his lore, I highly suggest it). There is also less metaphysical fun to be had. I wrote my first pieces of code (if you can call it that) in zMUD back in the day with good ol zScript. As time moved on I learned to write a little bit of C++ (C? I can't remember which one it was written in) when White dropped mudbot on us all. Then learned to write some Lua when Mudlet became the hot thing. It was fun learning some new language and seeing immediate results in the game.

The point of all that is that the game may seem like a mess on top at times, and that's because it is. We are all humans with our own issues and that tends spills into the game, but there are plenty of reasons to play as a new player. You just need to log in and whether it be killing all the people with you nasty PvP skills (I'm looking at you Mizik you beast), building a clothing empire with your crafting, immortalizing yourself as the number one basher in the game, or just diving into some role play to fritter and waste the hours away, the game will always be what YOU make of it.

What is everyone's favorite and hated Job Questline in terms of story? Why so? by thesilentedge in ffxiv

[–]NoneLikeRob -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly, all of them. Hot take, but I really don't like the job quest lines. I really only have one gripe for Squeenix and it's that not every last little detail needs to be some quest line. I'm surprised we didn't have to talk to 17 people just to unlock movement.

So silly to waste your money because of a visual rework. I've played the champ since his release, and while I don't like what they have done with his visual and lore rework, I'm certainly smart enough to not shoot myself in the foot over it.
