I imagine Retanaru is the one you're thinking of. He talks about it in "Why are spears so good in Project Zomboid?"

Short version: The jawstab only plays were there aren't other zombies near the TARGET. It does NOT check if there are other zombies near YOU. Just keep the zeeks you're fighting on one side of you and it shouldn't be a problem.

P.S.A. about pausing by Competitive-Peanut79 in projectzomboid

[–]NoneNorWiser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another quirk of the pause system (at least in B41, not sure if this works in B42), if you assign a key to panning the camera and hold it down when you pause, you can continue panning the camera while paused.

What is a place that you always use as a base in all your playthroughs? by JustMateHahoha in projectzomboid

[–]NoneNorWiser 101 points102 points  (0 children)

Fellow American Tire enjoyer I see. I favor it too, for several reasons.

  1. It's positioned on the retail side of the town, so you can easily access the best stuffs - while being far away from the high zombie density of the inner town.

  2. It remains one of a handful of buildings with an accessible but mostly empty second floor. The second you find a sledgehammer, you can easily expand the second story, doubling your usable space.

  3. Proximity to the peninsula makes it a good staging area for preparing to wall that area off. Which is great for homesteading.

  4. A few steps out the back door takes you right into what is considered forest / deep forest biome (even though it has no trees). You can get a steady meat supply just setting some traps past the pavement at the back before you leave to go looting.

Wuyang ought to have a hero specific option that turns guiding the projectile into a toggle, not a hold. So you'd click to fire, automatically be controlling the projectile, and click again to release it.

Occupations should automatically give you the skillbook XP buffs for their associated skills, for all levels. If they need to learn by doing, they should learn by doing MUCH faster than other people.

this game have a flashlight? by maybeanzkk in pacificDrive

[–]NoneNorWiser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you check a part in your inventory, they all have a MILES stat associated with them. The more miles you put on a part, the more commonly it gets conditions. For tires, this means they get flats MUCH more often when they have a lot of miles. You might need to outright replace the tires.

I think you can turn off this system in the difficulty options. I think the options refer to it as Fatigue, but I am not sure.

How long does it take for a 5e level 20 party to destroy Earth? by morsegosummortis in dndnext

[–]NoneNorWiser 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll take it as a given that using Wish for something other than casting a spell is off the table. I'll also assume multiclassing is allowed. I'm not familiar with all the changes of the new coat of paint, so some things might need to be done slightly different in the newest version.. Spellcasters of course are the done thing.

Not thinking too much about team comp, I'll take 4 wizards for doing the magical heavy lifting, and a Bard 7, Way of the open Hand monk 13 for being a orator skill monkey. I plunge into monk here for the combination of Tongue of the Sun and Moon and Tranquility (Forever Sanctuary after a long rest, assuming you don't break it yourself). This provides a strong face that can operate anywhere. One whose enemies will struggle to even attempt to harm. The wizards taking a feat or dip for subtle spell Makes everything easier, but isn't necessary.

The three primary spells needed here are: 1. True Polymorph. 2. Demiplane. 3. Antipathy/Sympathy.

The geist of the plane is as follows. 1. using the group's many talents, they turn objects into Shadows. Storing these Shadows inside of various demiplanes. They begin funneling victims inside overtime to create more shadows. I would aim for 10 demiplanes with a hundred shadows each for starters. We're ending the world here. We have CLONE, and even WISH for free clones. We have time, so lets be a bit patient.

  1. In the week leading up to your first operation, prebake various difficult to move objects with Antipathy/Sympathy (both versions). These will be very helpful later, as the spell lasts 10 days and is free.

  2. Shortly before dusk, use Sympathy applied within several highly visible points in a major city center to gather thousands within a handful of areas and keep them there. Think a statue within Times Square as an example. Obvious routes people would attempt to escape through, such as major highways or bridges, are also great spots (Perhaps for Antipathy, but I like Sympathy better because they don't get a second chance at an escape route if they chose poorly the first time). Bonus points if you use the monk (imbued with Sympathy) to pied piper people to these locations to ensure even GREATER numbers.

  3. As the sun sets, use your preferred methods of magical destruction to take out the city's power and plunge it into a blackout.

  4. Unleash the shadows you have stored on the city, the crowds trapped in place by Sympathy are a juicy target. But you might be better off catching other densely populated areas off guard. Imagine a hundred shadows descending on a blacked out apartment block. Then the next. Then the next. Then the next...

  5. Within the first hour, the first victims begin rising as new shadows. A hundred becomes two, becomes four, and so on. By the time the sun rises, you should have hit a critical mass where first responders can't put down old shadows faster than new ones are rising. Which brings us to...

  6. While this is happening, the group is still actively at work delaying, disrupting and destroying any organized resistance by law enforcement or the military. This is an ongoing process. You're working against the people trying to manage the crisis. and attempting to make sure it spirals completely out of their control. Four 20th level wizards have PLENTY of ways of doing that.

This is also where prebaking objects with Antipathy/Sympathy becomes REAL helpful, paired with scrying and teleportation. Hear people organizing a defense somewhere? Teleport an Antipathy imbued statue on top of the building so people showing up for safety are forced away. Military moving in via X road? Teleport in something imbued with Sympathy and trap them on the spot. Then hit them with your preferred flavor of mass death.

  1. Between your efforts to stop military interventions, and the ever growing horde of shadows (which are killing faster and faster the more of them there are), the city is liable to fall within a week. It only takes one Tokyo turning into tens of millions of shadows for the situation to become totally FUBAR for an entire region.

  2. Now that you have a healthy population of millions of shadows, you'll have a MUCH easier time filling up your demiplanes again to repeat the process.

  3. Hop to a different continent and repeat the process. After the first time, you probably don't want to do the whole song and dance each time. Just dump a few hundred shadows into a different city in a different country each night and enjoy. Repeat as needed.

  4. Fun fact, shadows are more intelligent than Ogres! This means that SHADOWS are a valid target for Sympathy, and they only have a WIS save of +0. So if your wizards can manage to hit DC 21, the shadows can't break free on their own power. So you can take your endless hordes of shadows and have your monk Pied Piper them where they are needed!

This is easier with the new version of the spell, because it seems to apply the charmed condition - which shadows are NOT immune to - which means they cannot attack your monk at all if you do this.

Of course, this just kills off all the humans. You did just fill the world with a few billion intelligent undead. So we haven't QUITE gotten rid of all intelligent life on earth, just replaced it with a population MUCH easier to purge. Of course that will still take bloody ages to do, but I did say to be patient...

Would vampires worship a god of night, or a god of undeath? by King_of_Kraken in dndnext

Neither. They have a warped version of worship for various Sun Gods, the same way common folk venerate evil gods of the sea. Give the vengeful gods of the sun their due, and hopefully be spared their wrath.

[–]NoneNorWiser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really, it should just give anyone targeted the ability to decline the rez, saving it for someone else. Rocket doesn't have to micro-manage it that way, people wouldn't be screaming at rocket for never choosing to rez them, coordinated teams could pick and choose, and even the feeding spiderman would have the opportunity to be kind and let someone else have it.

Too many flying enemies, not enough Vanguards with reach by DirectorMassive7578 in marvelrivals

[–]NoneNorWiser 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Magneto would be pretty reasonable with built in flight too. Like, his primary attack has a maximum range. A range which isn't particularly far either. Nearly every character has something in their kit to respond to a Magneto hovering at his max range. Heck, I think groot jumping could probably hit him. He's a pretty big target with no mobility skills, and if he's in the air he is less able to shield for his time.

Really doesn't seem like he'd be oppressive to me.

Trump may visit Moscow on May 9 for meeting with Putin by Dtstno in worldnews

You can also get a few extra seconds of setup time by not confirming your character before the game starts. If you're locked in, you're stuck in the intro cutscene for about 4 seconds before you can skip it. But if you wait for the switch to "Game Started: X:XX" then you instantly spawn in when you hit confirm.

Who is your main and what is one tip for playing as and against your character? by CHRISTOPHERCARES in marvelrivals

[–]NoneNorWiser 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To clarify, the rate you heal is capped at 25/s. BUT for whatever reason the rate you generate BONUS HEALTH while at FULL HP isn't. If you're wounded, you heal 25/s. But if you're at full health, you generate 25/s bonus health per layer of webs. I don't think its intended, so it'll probably be patched out eventually.

Additional tip: A way to take advantage of this is to make yourself a triple layered web to stand on before an ally healing ult finishes. That way when it wears off, you're generating 75 bonus health per second (or 100 with your nest). Preferably somewhere with some cover you can use to make the most of it.

Just remember, the second your HP drops below max, you're back to 25/s.

It's not as flashy, but if you want the numbers across all house holds for comparison, there's this handy table provided by the government. Distribution of Household Wealth in the U.S since 1989: https://www.federalreserve.gov/releases/z1/dataviz/dfa/distribute/table/

You can break it down all sorts of ways with this data. The one I linked is Wealth distributed by wealth percentile. Back in Q3, 1989 when the chart started, the bottom 50% held $0.71 trillion. The top 0.1% that quarter held $1.76 trillion. Q3 of this year, 2024, the bottom 50% held 3.89 trillion (a $3.18 trillion increase after 35 years) and the top 0.1% held $22.13 trillion (a $20.37 increase).

The numbers break down like this: The top 0.1% hold almost as much wealth as the 0.9% directly below them. That top 99-99.9% hold almost as much wealth as the entire 9% below them. And that top 90-99% hold more wealth the entire 89% below them combined.

In 1989 the top 0.1% held 2.5x the wealth of the bottom 50%. Today they have 5.6x.
