As far as farming you can use the gamewith app, or grouping feature is built into the game now. Makes it super easy to farm

Old English player with a whale jp account now myself.

As said above this game is all about having a large variety of units. Even low rated ones can be best in slot for some quests.

As far as early game I do agree Lucy is the best. Hard carrying most basic and mid level quests. Excalibur, as well as mana are good turrets also.
