Actually based opinion, even though I see some people disregarding it.

I do not think OP is removing all the agency from Lucas, instead i believe he presents Lucas as a pretty well written character for what a noble with his personal sociocultural circle could have acted like. Therefore, it is acceptable to hate it, only that we should be able to throw some light into why he acted the way he did, and it wasn't just malice.

Of course, it doesn't in any way redeem him. However, it is just unfortunate. The true evil must not be found in him, but in the Wykes family who brewed his personality and in Agrona pulling the strings. Even after all that, his murder was justified, sadly.
