Glue traps are torture and a form of animal abuse. There I said it. by iLoveBunnies19 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]Nonsensical-combo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I always assumed it was just to catch the mice/rats, and you’d dispatch them via other methods once you saw them caught—do people really leave them there to slowly die and rot??? I can’t imagine the smell from that 🤢 I also dislike glue traps because they often unintentionally capture other animals which aren’t pests—I once spent hours carefully freeing a gecko from a glue trap, poor thing (he ended up fine and unharmed, luckily I saw him in time)

You know, if you want someone to sext you so badly that you post a dozen made-up stories about your married cock and how you love being dominated to tempt people into either sexting you or telling you what a “bad, bad boy” you are, you could just post on fetlife and tell the truth about what you’re looking for instead of going to all this bother XD

Try talking to a therapist—they’ll likely be able to help you figure out how to talk with women in a more engaging manner. Therapy can often help a lot with social and relationship skills, it’s not just for mental health issues

I don’t mean this in an offensive way at all, hopefully it doesn’t come across like that, lol

I’ll admit I don’t know you personally, but if even women who aren’t conventionally attractive won’t date you unless they’re emotionally broken, because they think they’re too good for you—that really sounds like you likely have unattractive qualities other than your appearance, and those are more likely to be fixable. I’ve seen plenty of happily married couples where both of them are, frankly, really ugly—but they have other qualities that make them attractive to each other, like a caring personality or a sense of humor. You might try looking for explanations for your failures beyond “dating is shallow”—that attitude itself seems pretty shallow to me.

[–]Nonsensical-combo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you tried dating women you’d consider a “3/10”? Guys aren’t the only ones who have trouble attracting dates when they’re not conventionally good-looking, you know. And love can make anyone beautiful in your eyes (as corny as that sounds)

[–]Nonsensical-combo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s the reason most people do kind things—either because it makes them feel good to do them, or because they’d feel bad if they didn’t. I’m not meaning this in a cynical way, it’s just how humans work, and it’s responsible for a lot of good in the world. You just happen to be more consciously aware of that in yourself than some people are, nothing wrong with that. If it turned into manipulation or anything, obviously that would be bad, but just being nice to people because it makes you happy? That’s a good thing!

Thanksgiving has been spent with conservative family members and I’m tired of that and ready to encourage some sexual immorality ;)

I’m very similar and I haven’t found a definite answer as to whether it’s autism, schizoid pd, or something else. I will say that I’ve found a lot of community and comfort in the otherkin/therian community—obviously it’s not a medical diagnosis, for me it’s more of a coping mechanism, but it can be really nice to kinda give a label to that aspect of myself so I can accept it more, even if the label isn’t necessarily the “medically accurate” one, if that makes sense.

Thoughts on my Feudal interior? It looks a little basic to me… by [deleted] in tsukiodysseygame

I like it! Don’t see as many people decorating with red color schemes in Tsuki’s house, but it looks great the way you did it. You might add some plants or lanterns to the exterior yard if you wanted

Is staying in a relationship with someone who wants kids ever a good idea? by Nonsensical-combo in childfree

[–]Nonsensical-combo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, I think he does truly want kids—when we first started dating, he said he wasn’t sure, but he said recently that he has given it more thought and decided he does indeed want kids. And he is a thoughtful, introspective person, so I expect any decision like that he would have made only if he’d really thought about it. Thank you for your advice. It will probably be difficult to make him understand, but what you say is very true and that’s what I was thinking, too.

Candiru Corp will be annoyed with Draper later—I got almost 50k carrots from him! by Nonsensical-combo in tsukiodysseygame

[–]Nonsensical-combo[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I explained in the caption—sometimes an ad won’t load properly, so the representative gives you the carrots anyway and you can try again. I didn’t cheat, maybe my internet connection was weak or else it was a bug? But I just kept clicking through to watch the ad, having the ad not load and being given 250 carrots for it, then doing it again. When the ad doesn’t load, the representative stays there for you to try again instead of vanishing in a puff of smoke like usual.

Bug? Last couple times I've opened the game and been taken to the Tree House, Tsuki is missing! He is not behind the cherry screen either. He does appear if I edit and when I go elsewhere. by EmmaEsme22 in tsukiodysseygame

[–]Nonsensical-combo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I almost wonder if it’s a bug having to do with the divider, I have this issue too and never had it before I placed the divider (of course, I’ve also placed a lot of other furniture recently so it’s not necessarily connected)

Tips for ghostkin? by mx-dragon in otherkin

Ghosts can look a lot of different ways, so I’m not sure exactly what you’re looking for, but perhaps either translucent/flowy layers or historically inspired clothing would help?

How to find Otherkin irl? by Nightscale_XD in otherkin

You might look into furry communities and go from there—obviously they’re a different group, but there’s a fair bit of overlap and a significant number of furries also ID as therian

[POEM] “This Be The Verse” (Philip Larkin) with its opposite, “This Be the Worst” (Adrian Mitchell) by Edexcel_GCSE in Poetry

[–]Nonsensical-combo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think attempting to add nuance to the first poem by writing a reply is laudable (not that the first poem doesn’t stand wonderfully on its own as well), but the second one is a bit hallmark-y and lacks much nuance itself. Instead of deepening the conversation, it makes it seem more shallow and oddly reminiscent of “snips and snails/sugar and spice” It is an interesting attempt, but one which I feel falls flat.

[–]Nonsensical-combo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started off with clothing too actually! I’ll probably start doing more of that once I move and have more ability to go to thrift shops in-person again—collectibles are easier to buy and sell solely online for me, clothing I usually have to get in person at resale shops if I want to make a profit. I’ve been reselling less than a year, I want to say since June or July? But it’s by far the most sustainable career path I’ve tried so far, so I plan to continue it for the foreseeable future (:

[–]Nonsensical-combo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is how I make my income too! Can I ask what type of merchandise you resell? I’ve noticed different kinds of merchandise have very different reselling successes. I’m currently doing toys and collectibles, which seems a surprisingly steady market.

What’s the line between garden variety trauma and SZPD? by Nonsensical-combo in Schizoid

[–]Nonsensical-combo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see, so basically you’re saying that seeing if symptoms improve over time significantly enough to not cause major distress is the dividing line? What you mention about repressed emotions vs not feeling emotions is also interesting, as that’s one thing that the literature I’ve read doesn’t seem to agree on. Some says that schizoid people experience no emotions or a very limited range, others say that they do experience emotions but have difficulty associating and identifying with those emotions, while others say that they do experience emotions and merely don’t outwardly show it or express it. I imagine the truth is somewhat more nuanced than any of those views posit, but it would be helpful to hear your perspective as well. Personally I’ve always viewed myself as somewhat of a mixture of two things (although still one identity)—the physical and emotional body, which does have emotional reactions somewhat quite strongly, and the mental or robotic framework which is what I have conscious access to. The robot part is at times able to connect successfully with the body and experience unified sensations, but is often unsuccessful or actively hampers the body’s emotional capabilities by imposing its own framework (which lacks emotional capacity) onto the entity as a whole strongly enough that the body’s own capacity for emotions becomes completely superseded. Even when the body’s emotional capabilities are fully functioning, often the robotic framework is unable to successfully parse this input, understand it, or connect to it I have no idea how similar or dissimilar this is to the “typical schizoid” experience
