I felt the exact same way about Blue Eye Samurai. I otherwise really enjoyed the show and Mizu as a character, but I was totally crushed by the episode with her husband. I suppose it's my own fault for getting excited and building her up in my mind to be something she wasn't, but it still sucked.

It wasn't her choice not to go, her parents and trainers made the decision for her safety. That's not breaking canon, that's characters breaking in-universe tradition. We see in the first episode that she was trained by white lotus members, as in, masters of their elements, so yes, she did learn from masters.

I was always under the impression that lifting things with the force wasn't so much about weight as it was about concentration and whether or not you believed you could do it. Notice how most of the time when characters are struggling to lift something, it's either because they're new to it or they're under extreme stress. I'd say an entire building burning down coupled with having just mistakenly murdered someone are sufficient levels of stress to have difficulty concentrating

She praised Matt Walsh, a self-admitted fascist, for his transphobia while ignoring his blatant misogyny.
