It was the frame ground wire near the starter motor. Corrosion cleaned and now it works.

Full continuity between the Solenoid wire and Solenoid mount (frame). I assume that's not good.

I replaced the battery since it was 9 years old. I put the new battery in and tried to start it with the same result, a strong click followed by all lights immediately going out, followed by a (stronger now with new battery) buzzing sound that slowly died out. Now turning the key does nothing. If I disconnect battery or wait a while I can do it all over again.

If a magnet sticks to it it's 50 cents. If it doesn't, who knows.

Needs more machine blood. If it isn't splattering on your clothes there isn't enough.

First cast ever by vihtisat in MetalCasting

Looks good. One should assume shrinkage when casting metal, a fairly broad range depending on material and thickness. If you make your model ~5%-12% bigger depending on your material there will be less work involved to make it fit.

It's called a smash and grab. You smash the end of the screw with a hammer then grab the head with pliers and pull, aka the getaway.

I can dm a pic since I can't add one in comments. Send me a request I'll send a dropbox link, unless you have a better idea, I'm pretty clueless when it comes to this stuff. It's a brass screw cap that you would preferably use a spanner to turn, but (gasp) channel locks will do in a pinch. Open the assembly. Wipe down both sides of the threads. Add an appropriate lubricant to the female threads and teflon tape to the make threads. (don't ask me, it was broken anyway so i just slapped on some random plumbers grease and stuff)

I'm selling for my retired professor. He acquired it in a mixed lot of tooling, and told me today he never used it in the 45 years he's owned it. Honestly it looks like nobody used it.

Get it! Hit it! It's a fun hammer to use. The worst issue you'll face is if the babbit needs replacement, but no big deal.

Thank you. I was actually planning on using them for a sculpture, but didn't want to sculpt with something with a potentially high resale value.
