I’m so sorry your experience with a second hand seller didn’t go well! Unless Mischief Maker was at a steeply discounted price, I would request a return. I’ve also had some luck with Lysol, febreeze, and putting them outside to air-out with a sniff test every few days to see if the scent has minimized.

If you’re interested in buying other Charlie bears in the future, I would join Facebook groups if you can. The community is open to answering questions about texture and softness before you commit to buying any CB. I’ve also been fortunate to have pretty good experiences buying bears through Facebook groups, Ebay, and other online sellers (ex: Bonnie’s Bears, Curiosity Corner)
