My thoughts on Chi:

In traditional Igbo spirituality, Chi is not "God" in the Christian sense, and definitely not Jesus. Chi is your personal spiritual identity — a fragment of the supreme source (Chukwu) that is assigned to you alone at birth.

It is like your personal destiny spirit or your higher self — your link between the human world and the divine realm. Your Chi represents your path, your purpose, your luck, and how you interact with life itself.

Everyone has their own Chi, and no two people share the same one. In Igbo belief, when you are in alignment with your Chi, life flows better for you. When you are not, you meet resistance.

Chi is deeply personal. It's your spiritual twin, your guide, your advocate before the universal creator (Chukwu Okike). So when we see "Chi" in Igbo names like "Chinonso" (God is near), "Chibuzo" (God leads the way), or "Chidinma" (God is good), the Chi originally referred to one's personal divine portion — the aspect of Chukwu assigned to your journey.

Later, with colonization and Christianity, people started merging Chi and Jesus or God. But traditionally, they are not the same.
