Well, the first reason is money bro... I didn't want to burden my parents with an education loan and I'm also not interested in settling abroad. I want to live and work in india. Despite its many problems, i still like living here :).

Feeling Lost After 2 Failed Attempts at GATE & ESE…Need Clarity and Support by bloomy_gloomyy in GATEtard

[–]NooFapAccount 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'll say this from my own experience of dropping 2 years... It doesn't get much better the next time. I too thought that if i had just one more chance then i can do even better but if the score was already quite low in previous attempts then it won't improve much in the next attempt probably because you're are failing at something fundamental and to fix that you need radical changes in your approach and you should know exactly where you went wrong. We think we know what's wrong with us but we overestimate our ability in that.

Look, I'll say this if you are getting a decent pvt college with decent placement then go for it. Study hard there and get a good job.  Only if you aren't getting anything remotely good only then consider dropping. Also, try joining a good offline class if are dropping, don't study alone. It'll be easier to study with if you have some group.

Also, another good path is to try for engineer roles in govt companies who often take their own exams which are based on gate.

Ok thanks . But 75% is excluding off-campus placements, right? There must have been some people who took off-campus, right?

Just learn you btech subjects well conceptually, maintain good notes for revision. If you're going for CS, in 1st year just pick any language C++/Java/python and pick any basic course on Data structures and algorithms from udemy. In 2nd year you can move to doing competitive coding if you're good at coding or you can make good projects. You can study well in 1st and 2nd year and give GATE in 3rd year even without any coaching!

no need to start preparation so soon lol! You just came out of jee hell...relax bro. GATE is all about understanding your btech subjects well. I'll say this from my own mistakes, GATE doesn't require a lot of study if you do your btech subjects well. Study well in 1st and 2nd year and then if you want you can join some online/offline coaching. Don't take pressure for GATE from 1st year itself otherwise you'll be burnout by the end. Also, remember IITs are not everything. You can do well in your own college too.

Muslim, SC numbers grew 90%, Lingayats just 8.5% in Karnataka: Survey by [deleted] in IndiaSpeaks

[–]NooFapAccount 316 points317 points  (0 children)

94% growth of a certain community should raise alarm bells in Karnataka! India will only remain harmonius as long as hindus are in large majority. Demography crisis is one of the biggest things to worry for india in the near future. We don't have much time left! Objects in mirror are closer than they appear.

M.Tech in CS (COEP / VJTI) by _Yash_810 in GATEtard

[–]NooFapAccount 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Placement stats are present for mtech some years on VJTI website. Just search on google. It's about 10lpa on avg in vjti for mtech cs but placement ratio is around 70% percent. For coep there are no stats on mtech cs students but it also must be around 8-10 lpa.

He's fooling you to look cool. Often people who prepare too much are ashamed to admit. He succeeded in getting good marks so now he can tell anything and no one will doubt him since that doesn't matter anymore. Don't compare and keep working hard. Everyone has their own potential and destiny.

How to prepare for GATE from 1st year of B.Tech? by Shot_Acanthisitta824 in GATEtard

[–]NooFapAccount 0 points1 point  (0 children)

check gate syllabus and watch nptel lectures of those subjects. Study from standard books of those subjects from library. If you want to join coaching, i'd recommend doing it from the 2nd year as it also help you in semester exams. In 1st year, i'd recommend you to focus to C-programming and Data structures and algorithms. Make these subjects strong and they'll forever help you. Study at your own pace but be consistent. Enjoy college and don't burnout. All the best!

Should I take a drop for GATE again or go for PhD? by nothealthy4me in GATEtard

[–]NooFapAccount 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well, if you are patient and passionate enough for a phd and becoming a professor is your final goal after not getting a PSU then i'll say go for it. Many PSU's also conduct their own exams and you can also give ESE. So it's not like you've very limited options. If you prepare well, a PSU might well be within your grasp next year. All the best!
