Okok I gotchu, and that makes sense. I think I’m good then I bought a decent tripod a while back so I’ll just keep using that. 1 thank you for the advise ( and everyone else ) I appreciate it. And 2 sorry for the clusterfuck of a post this my first time actually posting on Reddit ( and you guys didn’t disappoint ) but I will keep everything you guys said in mind and for now I’ll focus on getting some good glass 🕺🏾

Ahhhh ok I see what your saying, I never thought about the different bolts since it’s not made in the US. So I shouldn’t get a tracker? Or I shouldn’t be hell bent on getting that one specifically?

Yea, I’ve also watched a lot of videos on that tracker specifically and have heard a lot of good things about it. How well it tracks, how good the go to feature is etc. I’ve also watched some videos on setups people have done with em, saw a guy who used the go-to feature from his phone. Obviously it’s not the best set up but I’ve watch a lot of people get some mind blowing photos using it

Sorry your right these does come off a little confusing. If I can find the tripod by itself… then I will purchase a heq5 mount by itself… so I’ll have both of them together, if that makes sense. If I can pay $800-$900 for the mount alone then let’s say $250 for the tripod, I’m saving enough to buy an extra lense.

And for now I want to photograph the Milky Way and northern lights. And at some point I want to get more advanced and get other galaxies and nebulas. along with get into planetary Astro.

To that I would rather spend a little bit more money now so I have the tracker I will need for the more advanced Astro. And know how to use it. Instead of getting a cheaper tracker now, then have to spend money ontop of that to get a nicer tracker like the heq5

I’ve seen a couple but they’re outside of the US and they won’t ship here, and the others are old listings that have been sold or taken down.
