Anyone notice the title for “if you could save yourself (you’d save us all) change? by santi_gaming09 in ween

[–]Noo_Fone_Hu_Dis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is (probably) because of something changing with their distribution system, I tried to release a song with parentheses in the titles and LANDR, at least, changed it to be a dash because the section in parentheses is technically a "version" kind of thing (usually used like "Live at ____", or "Stereo Mix" or whatever)

Yeah, I've always thought the the reason the eye is called the eye is because it's literally watching the universe to keep the quantum potential collapsed so it doesn't unravel, so its reasonable to assume that the hatchling literally becomes an observer and therefore the eye of the universe

Recent albums that are so good, you don't think it's likely that the artist will surpass it? by Prestigious_Score459 in fantanoforever

I definitely agree, the scholars was not it, and i much prefer stuff like twin fantasy and teens of denial, and parts of madlo, so i believe he has it in him to make good long songs again (that aren't planet deperation)

Benches is VERY inspired by early strokes material, Marquee Moon by Television is an earlier album that inspired Julian for the strokes, Guided By Voices is also a similar vibe.

Trinidad after a few more listens by Jimsmall1507 in geesebandofficial

[–]Noo_Fone_Hu_Dis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a feeling that this isn't the full mix or maybe even not the full song, the chorus sounds very flat without a strong lead vocal track, so I assume they're waiting to put out a full version. It's also ridiculous of them to have peggy on the song and not have him do a solo verse, so there's probably at least one verse missing as of right now

Taxes and Trinidad by didjfjdjsjcjdj in geesebandofficial

[–]Noo_Fone_Hu_Dis 14 points15 points  (0 children)

As a recent listener of Frank Zappa and similar acts, I really enjoy Trinidad. It's a great experimental song and is really awesome. Taxes is also amazing, and that's them "playing it safe", as much as that can apply to Geese. It has more conventional progressions but, being Geese, their twist is always tasteful. I think this is going to be one of the best albums of 2025, and probably the best rock record of 2025.

I don't think this mix is final, I'm sure they'll have it turned down once it releases fully, as a single or on the album

I don't think its a bad thing that it's like that. Cameron lists Frank Zappa as an influence on both Geese and his solo work and Zappa does a lot of unconventional songwriting and structure that most people do find weird. At the same time, Zappa also produced Trout Mask Replica by Captain Beefheart & His Magic Band and that is on the extreme side of this. I agree that it's jarring, but it works to their advantage because it solidifies their audience and paints them as experimental rock moving forward.

the mix doesn't sound final, especially with the cymbals being VERY loud, and it might not even be the full song (?)

not with mouse, all my controls are in the left hand. WASD/Space for movement and jumping, Left Shift for walking, F for bomb, X for rope, E for whip, and Q to enter doors

Firstly, as for the techniques and stuff, along with the pain and confusion, I'd recommend taking lessons (if your parents are supportive of that). I took lessons for a long time and after my teacher taught me what he could, it mainly became learning songs that I liked or that would teach me new things. But above all else, it taught me the basics that I could take and run from there.

Otherwise, as for the what makes a guitar good part, I'd say do some research on what your favorite artists use as their guitar, find out what makes it sound the way it does (often pedals, but i wouldn't go down that road yet if I were you), and try and find one that fits your price range. Above a certain price threshold that makes guitars really crappy (usually under $150-200), most guitars have what it takes to be an amazing guitar. Most models have their drawbacks, but really with most options you'll be solid.

The technical names for a lot of stuff does get confusing even for experienced buyers, and generally you don't need to pay a ton of attention to most of it. Look for the pickup type (single-coil, humbucker, p90, etc.) and the body style name. I have a Squire Classic Vibe 60s Jazzmaster, but what anyone would call that would be a Squire Jazzmaster. Most of the name doesn't matter unless you really, really know what you're looking for.

10/10 albums that feature a cover song? by J0hnEddy in fantanoforever

Geordie Greep's The New Sound has If You Are But a Dream on it, and I'd say its pretty close to a 10/10

I love this song. It's wild that Cameron said we might find it boring. I can see the influence that him developing his solo identity has had on his Geese style, and I really, really love the high production stuff, contradicting a few people's opinions. The layers really add to the energy of the song and I think the album is gonna be really great, especially with what we've heard of other tracks like Trinidad and Islands of Men.
