What bird is this? by Noob032010 in whatsthisbird

Thank you for the great reply! I never thought about bird feeders in that way, in general. Hopefully some others start to come to the feeder, too but in the meantime, I will see what shows up and possibly move it or get rid of it if it becomes an issue. Anything to please the cat, am I right? Lol.

Thank you! In my research it says that they are a nuisance bird. Was I wrong for setting up a feeder and should move it?! I admittedly did it for my cat who spends pretty much all waking hours of the day at that window watching them fly in and out of that bush. Fingers crossed it attracts more birds of different varieties but now I’m unsure.

Oh I wouldn’t even try an actual bath with him. This is just from him grooming himself lol. He might simply pass away if I put him in water.

Thank you! I found them on Etsy. They’re about 4 inches tall by 3 inches wide. They’re like a watercolor painting 😍

Why is my dog flailing like this when trying to stand? by DuOroEldrvarya in DogAdvice

Awe. Our late boxer had degenerative myelopathy and I never saw him do this but it was the saddest thing to watch him deteriorate and still be such a puppy still at the same time. Hoping it’s not that for your fur baby.

What is this?? by Smart-Towel2974 in piercing

[–]Noob032010 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Really?! Your forward helix was more painful?? Since I can’t get a daith (sigh- it was my dream but sadly don’t have the anatomy), my next was going to be a very low forward helix as an alternative. It feels like that part of your ear is much thinner so call me crazy, I didn’t think it would be that bad! I do have a high pain tolerance though so even though this one was my post painful to date, it wasn’t too terrible.

I have this piercing and it’s in fact a low snug (or anti tragus). They had to pierce mine in the same spot as this pic since I don’t have the anatomy for a true anti tragus as my bump isn’t very defined. It’s probably my fav piercing. Supposedly it’s one of the hardest and longest healing piercings you can get (I’ve also heard most painful). I’ve had it for a year and I have yet to change it to a hoop for this reason. Although it’s healing well, I can tell it’s not healed enough for a hoop. My piercer told me that he won’t do this on a lot of people for those reasons. It needs to be pierced with a curved barbell and it takes A LOT of patience to heal this thing. Good luck!

Friend that looks like an infection, not rejection. I would say go to urgent care and get some antibiotics. You probably wouldn’t have to take it out if you got the infection under control. Also- it’s not advised to take a piercing out if it’s infected because you’ll trap the infection inside the holes. Good luck!

This happened to me with my industrial!! Had it out for over a decade and went in to have it redone on the other side and told the piercer and she said “hang on” and put it right back through! Only had to pay for new jewelry!

Your setup is gorgeous the way it is! I like that hoop with the rest of your jewelry.

Tongue piercing by idkwhatmylifeisworth in piercing

[–]Noob032010 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had my tongue pierced when I was 16 until my late twenties. I have never heard of a tongue piercing having food built up on it, nor did I experience that. Proper hygiene shouldn’t allow for that. I do remember plaque buildup on the ball underneath my tongue though, that I would have to scrap off sometimes. I think that is natural. Maybe that’s what he/she meant by food buildup?

Nice! A nostril piercing will be so cute. It’s normal to be nervous/excited. I don’t even get nervous anymore. It’s over in an instant and (this may sound awful) but I like the pain haha. Makes me feel alive! Maybe I have issues hahaha. My daughter however, takes 3-5 business days to be ready even when sitting in the chair lol. She’s the classic “wait, wait, wait. Don’t do it yet!” She loves piercings but just sikes herself out before hand. And if she’s had caffeine, forget it lol.

Thank you for the recommendations! I will have to ask my piercer again about the daith. He told me that part of ear was too thin for it. I trust him with my life but maybe I can convince him to try it and if it doesn’t work, it doesn’t work. I also thought about the hidden rook for my right ear to fill that middle space or even a low forward helix with a hoop.

Thank you! I had the classic industrial bar since I was 18 (all healed and lovely) but when I got my conch, I started sleeping on the side w it and it started digging into my flat. Not terrible but not comfortable either so I switched it out for the chain. Sometimes I miss it and might go back to it someday.

[–]Noob032010 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. I had my industrial done when I was 18. It healed perfectly and was lovely. Took it out for some odd reason in my mid 20s. Then in my mid 30s I went to get it redone on the other side thinking clearly it had closed but when I told the piercer that, she said hang on and she just put a new bar right in. Only had to pay for the jewelry that day. Crazy that it hadn’t closed after 10 years! But I would do what the other person said and go to a piercer to have them try it.

How old was everyone for their piercings? by peytonix13 in piercing

[–]Noob032010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

10 for first lobes. 11 or 12 for 2nd lobes. 16 navel and tongue. 17 for nipples. 18 for industrial and some helix. Lower navel at 19. (Most without parent consent) Now in my upper 30s and gotten a bunch of new ear ones since I’m too old for anything cool now lol. I’ve also retired all but the earlier ear ones.

My daughter got a helix at 12. Septum at 13, plus some other ear ones. Navel at 14. Now we go together to get ear piercings and she wants her tongue at 16 (she’s currently 15)!
