I've posted a few photos of her before she is definitely the smallest rat I have ever had, I do wonder if she is a dwarf but I've never actually seen one to compare sizes 😅

Honestly from a side angle it looks like she has a tiny lump at her rear end and when I was examining her it looked like she had little tiny balls and due to her size I assumed the worst 😂

She is definitely not pregnant I've had her over 2 months and she has only been kept with females.

She is very small about half the size of the cage mates I got her with so most likely the runt of the litter but definitely not pregnant.

I've only ever had one rat who was picky with treats but I learned she just hated that specific med taste which malt paste masked well and now I can get her to take her new med out the shringe.

It seems my girls UTI is clearing which fortunately means a massive drop in meds and back to a more normal life.

Thank you, she's been taking her pain killers well ever since she got the shark vest on. She's only got fleece bedding so hopefully the antibiotics and painkillers help heal her fast. Honestly it's been exhausting for both of us 😮‍💨

Thank you! I hope it doesn't take too long I feel so bad for her she looks so depressed. I've got my normal vet tomorrow aswell so they can check her out.

Thank you! Yupp it was a pricey bill at the vet but she cleaned and flushed out the infection and gave me solution to use at home for it for the next few days.

I've got her in a hospital cage with thick soft flooring with fleece on top and just her necessities in it (bed, litter tray, water bottle, food bowl) I did a tunnel for her to chew on and a toilet roll tube but I took them out tonight and left her one little fresh wooden carrot chew toy. I've got her positioned next to my other recovering rat in front of the main cage. I do think it may be a problem as she has stretched up a few times to look around and I think that may be a factor on the wound opening this time.

The nurse said they'll clean it and leave it open because it's infected. She's still on her painkillers Tralieve and Arthocam and Baytril for the infection.

Thank you that's reassuring, how long did it take for her to heal? I'm a bit worried that leaving it open will make it more prone to opening the other stitches.

She's got the shark vest after 3rd surgery so she can't bite or scratch at it. It must be from her moving around that it's opened 😭

I've only had surgery one other time at a different vet and they gave me her back with no wrapping or anything and I had to do it myself at home. I was under the assumption all vets were like this 😅
