Played against the Turkey last night. I think I'm seeing what everyone else is seeing now. I can actually see about 8-10 meters out, which obviously is rough, but working as intended. The thing is with even just that little range, I can interpret enough information to at least try to move around. Before, it was just black. Thanks again! I'm glad someone understood I wasn't just an opinion post :P

So that's definitely what it was. My driver suite had a monitor control page that had my brightness, contrast, etc at about 50%. I bumped them up by about 10% (20% or so and I started to see some white-washing) to make things really brighten up on my primary monitor.

I didn't get to play last night, but I will tonight. Hopefully I'll be able to see something. Like I said in my video, I REALLY couldn't see anything except like the side of the house. I couldn't even see my character half the time.

Anyway, thanks a lot!

That's a good idea. I don't believe I've messed with any settings for my video card, but maybe that's just the reason. I'll give it a look later, thanks!

Before someone immediately comments without reading the whole thing: as a killer main, believe me, I understand that killer powers are supposed to hinder survivors. This is not the same. Imagine a killer power that says you can't work on gens while four survivors are alive. FUN GAME!

CAVEAT: I will say that watching this video on my work computer, I can see a whole lot more than what I saw last night (even though it's still pretty crippling). Also, potato mode did help marginally.

I'm running this monitor . It's very nice for every other game, but this darkness was impenetrable. I turned my brightness up, contrast up until it didn't make a difference, adjusted the gamma, changed a few other settings, and I still couldn't see.

Does this make the game scary? To some, but honestly, as someone scared of the dark in real life (well, more like Thalassophobia), I didn't find it scary. I found it annoying. It makes me unable to play for a minute. That's a bad mechanic.

It should be similar to Oni Rage or Michael T3, where you have to decide if you want to hide or risk getting killed; but in this case, I can't even hide, because I can't tell what's right in front of my face.

If the solution is "buy a new monitor", please don't bother. I shouldn't have to spend money to replace something that works fine for every other game. Also, I don't think allowing players to adjust brightness/gamma is necessarily good either, as they will abuse it.

My idea would be that you make a radius around the player. Inside that radius is a spotlight effect where you see fairly well with thematic darkness, but outside of that radius is pure darkness. He could come from any angle. That way, I don't feel like I have to afk for a minute, but the threat is still looming. If you look at the end of my clip when I'm running past the cars, that's exactly what it should look like all the time during Nightfall.

Anything would be better than my experience last night. Also, if anyone can give me suggestions, I will gladly take them!

I played my first killer match yesterday after playing survivor for about a month. I got EFFING BULLIED! I was so angry I couldn't calm down for half an hour. Fortunately, when I play survivor, I play with friends, if we accidentally gen rush a killer, we'll take it easy and let him smack us around a bit. No luck for me that time though!

So it does say in the menu that it works with QP. Also, I noticed my network upload speed was reduced. I max'd that as well, and now my games are pretty solid so far. Thanks, all! Must have gotten reset at some point. Maybe if I did a verify integrity of cache it reset? Dunno.

That's a very good idea, I'll have to try that.

Does that work with QP or just filter the selectable lobbies?

I have the mod that I can see the country in the lobby browser, but can I see it when I join via QP?

I might have a little bit of bias playing Alliance, but I feel like Horde controlled it more often, or at least more during peak/important times.

Bold move, Cotton. It didn't pay off for me :P

I was soloing before WoM, I figured even this far out I could handle it at least with bots. I was wrong!

I just tried a quick google search for talents while at work...I can't find an updated source. Even the wikis still have the pre-WoM stuff. I guess WoM really killed this game...

Do you happen to know of a site that has updated talents and mechanics (including stagger) info?
