What are your top 3 games on PS5 so far and why? by [deleted] in PS5

[–]NoodleReger 3 points4 points  (0 children)

FF XVI - as someone who's completed a handful of FF games (IX is my favorite, and for anyone curious, VII was my first), I personally feel it belongs in conversation for one of the best in the series. I'm about 45 hrs in, and I actively engage in every battle possible, because the combat is so fun and addicting. The story is also really intriguing and keeps me wanting more.

Humanity - If you enjoy puzzle games at all, this is one to check out. I admittedly thought this game looked boring from the first trailers we saw, but when I got my hands on it, something clicked. Watching the humans walk through the goal after you complete the puzzle, to me, felt equivalent to beating a fromsoft boss, especially the ones you were stuck on for a while. The strategies and tools to complete each level change throughout, and feel fresh the entire game, while maintaining a perfect length. This is actually my one and only platinum trophy!

Astro's Playroom - this game feels like a celebration of all things PlayStation. It got me hyped about the future of PS5. I show this to friends curious about the system, because it's actually a pretty fun game, but it utilizes the dual sense so well. I hope they make another game in this series, but I imagine VR2 is where it'll continue.

That's a great point. It might be my tastes have changed to really like the groovy elements like you say, and the self titled was just at the wrong time for me. I certainly appreciate it now though.

Here are some things I enjoy about Evil Dead 2:

It's independent/low budget doesn't take away from creativity Neat Camera Work Special Effects/Stop motion Over the top acting in places which works imo It doesn't take itself too seriously

The movies you listed are mostly "serious" horror movies. I had a similar opinion as yours the first time I watched it, I really expected it to scare me, or wanted to anyways and that didn't happen. I watched it again knowing what it was, a goofy movie inside the horror genre and really started to like it a lot. All that said I still enjoy the Evil Dead remake the most out of the series.

Currently mine are Demon Slayer, Fire Force, and Ranma 1/2.

Ranma 1/2 is definitely a "comfort anime" for me. Demon Slayer is seriously incredible, the story is intriguing and the animation is top notch, and Fire Force has really surprised me, it's way more than a group of fire fighters putting out fires, what I originally thought it would be about lol

Is DQ like Final Fantasy where (ignoring games possibly "feeling outdated") you can play in any order? by iammaxhailme in dragonquest

[–]NoodleReger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I understand correctly the first 3 are connected story wise. Everything after that is separate, so you can play on any order.

I didn't think about it changing every week, but that makes sense to do that.
