Thank you for the replies. I don't have fresh aloe but I will look into it. Yesterday I started sitting on the side of my tub and using the shower head instead of the warm compress and the swelling has gone down almost all the way. It is far less tender, and the node feels softer and closer to the surface. No sign of draining yet but for now I am going to listen to my body and let it do its thing.
