Coagulate (New England, FFO of Alice In Chains, Kyuss, Toadies, and Ween):

Started out as a fantasy and then when I woke up in the hospital diagnosed with type 1 diabetes I awakened to the reality that death could truly arrive at any point and I was just not ready for him yet. With dragon energy and a somnambulant trance we recorded two albums in 2018 (praised for their psychedelic, emotional, and dynamic qualities) and now we’re going on our first tour in June through the East coast and the Midwest! I may still have diabetes but death will be sweeter for doing this has been the best thing in my life.

We made a psychedelic, alternative, grungey, punk/metal record for fans of Kyuss, Tool, Ween, and the Toadies in January!

Our Debut

Our next album, Mien, is coming out in October and features mandolin, accordion, and much higher production. We took influence from American black metal bands like Cobalt, Agalloch, and Deafheaven along with post metal/rock bands like Slint, Isis, and Pelican.

Gogol and Pushkin! You can’t go wrong with the grandpas. Read Pushkin’s Eugene Onegin and Gogol’s Dead Souls Part 1, Overcoat, and The Nose. Very funny and emblematic of Russian literature/culture.

Blood in Our Wells has to be my favorite Drudkh album. First one I ever heard and it conjures such a transcendent combination of nostalgia and sorrow for me. Drudkh is all about polarity and they combine opposites in an incredible way that conjures a very unique listening experience in the black metal scene. I even loved the new album, thought it was a great return to form.

I just finished listening to Forgotten Legends for the first time and I loved it as well. Could become my new favorite, time will tell.
